This game had a better concept than anything Square Enix has released since. Actual travesty that Nomura is spending his time on Kingdom Hearts 4 instead of a reboot of this masterpiece.
I had a great time with XV, but I always think about what the game would’ve been like keeping the Versus XIII vibes. Love the dark and atmospheric look so much. They even had it in the first XV announcement trailer. Maybe we’ll get a FF like this one day.
Anybody that says I enjoyed 15 your the reason we didn’t get versus they had to appeal to new fans “A Final Fantasy for first timer “ 🫵 it’s your fault
Watching these trailers in the late 2000's/early 2010's as a teenager was quite the experience. Nothing will compare to this. I hope one day, Square would give Nomura the money to transform these ideas into a new IP or something like that.
This game was first officially revealed back in 2006. It's been almost 2 DECADES and there's still so many of us clinging on to what could have been. Thank you for remastering these trailers. You did a phenomenal job.
was this in the ps4 release or just exclusive to the pc port? Also, some files have debug text like "[rg071] Ends the reminiscence scene" so it's probably some sort of anti crash message if you load the map (it triggers the ending cutscenes) without it triggering the cutscenes
Away is still by and far my favorite track on the OST. Yes, even more than Bahamut. Their is so much more meaning given to this piece in not onoy the narrative, but in the way the music swings up and down emotionally. Its still the only piece of music that sticks in my head when remembering this game. Joshua and Clive's brotherly bond will always stick with me the most from my playthrough of 16
Oh I wish if I can go back where Final Fantasy Versus XIII became a big deal and the fanbase had formed, many theories in forums, fanfics made, dedicated fanarts and so on... FFXV is still my all time entry but this is what I can imagine if the director didn't scrapped this along the Fabula Nova Crystallis but in the end, this always lived in my rent free mind.
just shows that 13 truly is a bad number. I think Nomura could've finished this and Type-0 could've been done better if it wasn't part of the 13 Fabula Nova Crystallis saga
All of their original designs were way cooler. And you could tell this took over 10 years to come out because it had HARD early 2000's vibes in their style and design
Just found this for the first time recently and it blows my mind how this whole game changed this much and they even still had Somnus theme this whole time as well.
I can’t imagine how hype it must’ve been for some people to see Terra pull out the Lingering Will’s keyblade for the first time (y’know, anyone who played KH2’s final mix first.)
I like the KH2 keyblade graveyard's usage in some of the scenes. The environment really compliments these scenes and gives it a more dark/serious feel (although BBS keyblade graveyard still kicks ass in my opinion)
Really wish the final game had like a Intro segment like FFVII Midguard where you play the first couple of hours in the City before it gets attacked. Most of the trailers made me think it would be so. It would have made coming back to it way more meaningful to see it in ruins.
The same people who will not let these trailers die are likely the same people that would have been haters of the final game, claiming it couldn't live up to the initial trailers and they were so disappointed in Nomura. I can just see it.
I didn’t know much of vs13, neither 15. It was by chance when people went on discussion for KH 3’s verumrex and dlc two years ago. I finally got to play 15 these couple of months and love it for what it was. Vs13 is one that may be reborn to another way- one where Nomura write it in secret. Kinda funny don’t you guys think? Square enix literally kicking him out of his precious project only to have the project be worked on an existing project that he very will have freedom to do so
I was very surprised at how Westerners read this atmosphere. No matter how I looked at it, it was strange because it was completely different from the first trailer for FF 15, with a bright and light atmosphere for children and no feel. No matter how you look at it, FF 15 should have been done in the style of producer Nomura with a dark atmosphere and sincerity. Is this question something that can be easily overlooked? If you don't know the difference between the atmosphere of the trailer for FF 15 and the crappy work that came out now, any game, movie, culture novel in this world will be of no use. There are cultural differences that cannot be put into words, but I am very proud and amazed at the fact that most Westerners truly feel the unique and authentic cultural values. I respect them very much and I think that because of their presence, they serve as a driving force for people to distinguish between right and wrong.
