you're making 368k SU, but the one engine you looked at was making 10,240. if diesel and gasoline produce the same, then all 40 should have been making 409k. so do they actually produce the same? doing the math, it seems like the gasoline powered engines must be producing only 8,192 SU.
Perhaps putting the recipe that you are trying to make in the mixer basin recipe slot will limit the amount of kelp going into the basin. I know that works on the new Create mod update but am unsure on this older version of Create.
Do you remember what you used for the roofing on your factory and the nether pump house?! It looks so cool both inside and out! I’ve looked through some of the decorative blocks and still don’t know what they are! Is it the “red roof” tiles from XK’s Deco that require terracotta to make?!
Unfortunately I don't remember which materials where used. XK Deco does sound like the mod though. Perhaps, Blackstone in the Nether and Terracotta in the overworld?
Good lord. I thought the last video was complicated 😳 Now all of this?! Sheeeeeeesh! Where do I even begin?! 😂 Love the factory too! I desperately need to get better at building 🤦♀️ I’m just not creative like that! I don’t have the creative vision, or know how to go about building it even when I do have a spark of an idea! So kudos to you!
You weren’t kidding when you said this pack gets intense 😳 How the hell am I gonna manage to tackle this video?! 😂 One step at a time I suppose! I literally set up a “shopping list” on my desktop sticky notes of things I need to make for the next machines based on your videos! This one’s a long one! Amazing work, as always! Old news, I know, since these videos are 2 years old, but I’ve been using level 5 storage upgrades to increase the space in my drawers. I’ve got auto crop farms set up and a village next door, so I’ve got unlimited emeralds to make upgrades with. Just apply them to drawers and instead of 32 stacks per drawer, they’ll hold 1024 stacks, 2048 stacks, etc. I couldn’t have learned how to set up the farms without everything you’ve taught me throughout these videos though! So thank you!
Happy to hear that you're still pushing on this modpack. This is honestly one of, if not, the best modpacks ever made and a great one to learn the Create mod on.
@@TubeAndKnuckle I absolutely cannot get the igneous extruder to work! Nor can I make the posts that you’ve used to put the water and lava into! They’re in JEI as “stone posts”, but they’re blacklisted? They have no crafting recipe! I wish I had the version you played on so I didn’t keep running into these issues 🤦♀️ And since this is the first modpack I’ve played, I have no idea how to fix it! Terribly annoying!
I love rebuilding your machines and figuring out how to make them fit my world! I finally managed to get the gantry working from the last video (and now this one) but had to use a Powered Toggle Latch instead. Now I’m having trouble getting the flywheel to actually spin 🤦♀️ Attached to the furnace engine, furnace running, but flywheel doesn’t spin! I might need to take to the discord or google for this one 😂 Seems so simple! Was the last thing I thought I’d struggle on for this video!
That's awesome! Glad that you figured out how to get the gantry to go back and forth. I haven't messed around with the furnace engines in a while but from what I remember. Right click furnace engine onto a minecraft furnace then a one block space in between furnace w/ furnace engine for the flywheel. Hopefully that helps
@@TubeAndKnuckle that was my problem 😅 I needed a space in between! I think a few of my mods must be conflicting or not installed properly - I can’t get the levers you used to work, a few of the quests behave strangely, and I don’t get bad omen after killing the banner pillager! Luckily these haven’t interfered too much, other than the switches, but using the “ponder” mechanic I was able to find an alternative! Unless I’m doing something wrong! Glad you didn’t have these issues 😅
1:40 - how did you make the cobblestone posts for the sluice box?! Did you have to add an extra mod? I don’t have them just in the regular Above and Beyond pack that I downloaded!
I didn't add any extra mods to this pack as far as I can remember. But according to the WAILA at the middle top of the screen when looking at the "Cobblestone Post" it is added by a mod called "CBMicroblock" So you can use a JEI search function to find mod specific blocks by typing @modname in JEI search box. In this specific case you would type @CBMicroblock and it should show any items that that specific mod adds to the pack. This can be an extremely helpful thing to use when searching for mod specific items. Hopefully that'll help you find that block recipe and if not it's a good bit of info to help in your modded journey.
@@TubeAndKnuckle aha! You were right! Thanks for the hot tip! I had been searching for “cobblestone post”, but JEI has it listed as a stone post 🤦♀️ I tried looking up the mod in JEI, but didn’t know I needed the “@“ to do that! There’s my problem! I ended up using bottom slabs, but might swap it out now! Much appreciated! Now if I could just get the darn redstone to work for the gantry in the episode where you built the vine harvester! I can’t get the gearshift to automatically swap once it reaches the other contact 😫 I replied to another person’s post about it under that video for more context!
This is why I should have watched the series through all the way before starting to build 🤦♀️😂 I just finished making the sky stone infinite loop and mixers contraption, ready to see what’s next, and now I learn that there’s item pipes and a tidier/easier way to do this setup 😂 Time to make some brass and rebuild! I should probably watch this video all the way through (and perhaps the next!!) before getting started on the build! Thanks! (Both sarcastically and literally 🤪)
I know these videos are 2 years old, but I’m just starting on my MC Create A&B journey and have to tell you that your videos have been an incredible help to get me this far! I’m currently working on recreating your sky stone contraption and have to thank you for figuring this all out! This is my first modded MC experience and I have no idea what I’m doing or how to start based on the quest line prompts, so your videos give me that visual to work off of. Random thing of note that I’ve found while building this (in case anyone else comes across this issue) - when milling the sky stone, the output is opposite to how you’ve placed your drawers for me! I kept finding the sky stone block stuck in the dust hopper, and the dust stuck in the block hopper! Instead of messing about with trying to lock hoppers or use redstone and observers, I’ve just had to switch the sides that the drawers are on. Very strange! I’m not sure why mine come out opposite to yours! I tried milling with the hand crank in both directions during this test and both lead to the same result. A terribly minor difference that hopefully won’t cause too much issue as I continue to try to follow along with my belts in different places! I’d like to try to figure some things out for myself too (and have kind of tried), but don’t really know how! How did you manage this?! Is it from previous experience with mod packs? I made the Tinker’s and smelting books - is that where you got your info?! The quests don’t really give me much info to go off of, but I also haven’t really been following the advancements either, which I’d imagine could help too 🤷♀️ Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again for all of your hard work!
First off, thank you for the kind words and I'm glad that you're finding these videos helpful in your journey within Create Above and Beyond. This is a very challenging modpack at times. But lucky for you there is now plenty of information out there along with different solutions for the challenges that you'll face along the way. Here is a link to the official "Create Discord" discord.gg/AjRTh6B in there they have a section dedicated to Create A&B along with plenty of knowledgeable people who are willing to help with questions that you may have. Most importantly remember that there is no right or wrong way to do things. You're playing this to have fun and challenge yourself.
@@TubeAndKnuckle thank you so much! I’ve joined the Above and Beyond subreddit, but I hadn’t even thought to try discord! Much appreciated, good sir! ☺️
There is some misinformation here Increasing the length of the pump-jack does increase the amount of oil extracted per pump rotation, it's just you only increase the length in froth of the baring. At a minimum back arm length the rate is directly proportional to the length of the front arm, following the formula Length of the front arm (not including the baring, but including the head or vice versa) X 25 mili-buckets X the crank block (1 for a small crank block and 2 for a large). The maximum limit to the amount of oil extracted per crank is 1 bucket or 1000 mili-buckets, meaning the smallest pump that can extract the maximum amount of oil per crank is 45 blocks for a small crank block and 25 for a large crank block (5 for the baring and back arm). You might be asking to yourselves or me ,,If this guy knows so much, why is he watching a tutorial?'', well i am looking for the exact amount of time it takes to complete 1 whole crank at 256 rpm and from the little i have watched this video and the other searching i have done i have not found such information. My latest test into deriving the rate myself have suggested it is not a rate multiple of a whole second (while being more than that). i also haven't watched enough of this video to see if there are more inaccuracies (such as the distillation or anything to do with the engines themselves).
Though there could also be some version mismatch, as i have not carefully examined all of the patch notes, i have done extra testing and have found a correlation between back arm length and and lower than expected oil/crank ouput.
Fun fact: you don't need any redstone to make an oscillating gantry farm. Just put two gantry shafts parallel to each other rotating in opposite directions, and it will automatically return the gantry every time it reaches the end of its route. Much easier than setting up observers or other detection systems.
Not sure if the engines themselves can be powered on/off with a redstone signal? But you could shut off the fuel supply to stop the engines. Would be cool to see some type of ignition switch added to the mod if it doesn't already exist via redstone signal.
@@TubeAndKnuckle that's what I do, but the engines themselves have 100mb of fluid storage so unless I slow down the pumps to a trickle (so they only have about 5mb of fuel) for the whole operation, completely stopping still takes about 2 mins
the normal ones (and modular) are stopped by a redstone signal, the huge ones have only 100seconds of fuel so disabling the pump becomes a better option
@@mopman9264 I know about the Redstone signal stopping the engine but that glitches out on me, it wouldn't run again until I break the block and put it back. And yes i know about just stopping the pump but that still takes about two minutes to completely stop. I figured it out though, @TubeAndKnuckle, what I do is hook up a second pump (leading back into your fluid tank) to pump out the contents of the engine, then add a clutch to the intake pump. This way a Redstone signal will stop the inflow of fuel, but not the outflow.
dude this is acutally so ingeniously cool. Especially because I just got into the create mod, so I have no idea what 90% of those blocks are lol. But what about blue dye, I don't see that in any of the storages? I want to make light blue dye to make blueprints for schematics.
The fact that we get to see first attempts and the problems with them and the fixes to them are what makes this video series so good, I love that you take us on the journey and we see all the cool but not-quite-viable solutions and learn with you about splitting contraptions or the rules for what drills pickup etc. etc. far more engaging than a finished design we see for 30s presented as fait accompli and all we learn is "this is the machine that makes corrundum". Old video so I doubt you will see this but still; wanted to say that I appreciate your style.
Heck sorry for commenting on an old video but... How are you powering your blaze burners? I wasn't aware of an alternative as I'm currently using buckets and mechanical arms. Does this modpack have other ways?
Create Crafts & Additions - www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/createaddition adds a straw that can be added to the blaze burner. This allows piping of lava or (fuels) into the blaze burner directly via pipe. In this particular setup I have a infinite source of lava (10k source blocks or more) in the nether which a Create "Hose Pulley" is setup there to get lava and it pumps directly into a ender tank which is then linked to the overworld for infinite lava at the base of the steam gen setups. The Pipez mod fluid pipes take lava from the ender tank and pipe it directly into each blaze burner under the steam engines. Hopefully this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I never played "One Block" but I'm assuming that it's a skyblock type of pack by the name. Is there a nether in the pack? If so, Create Mod gives an easy solution to infinite lava. In the pack that I was playing at the time of this video I had to use the Blood Magic mod for lava. The specific ritual is called "Serenade of the Nether" which provides lava in exchange for "LP".
@@TubeAndKnuckle Yep, sorry for the late response but yeah it is like one block in the sky, skyblock. There is nether in the pack too. And I will check out that mod thank you! subbed btw you are underrated!
So many big creators made gantry tree farms that have issues and this is such a smart way to do it, having the deployers underground. I can't believe I never thought of that.
Create Machination is close to it's release and this mod has been spiced up a bit in there. New ways to make stuff that would usually require air pressure.
Quick FYI, turbos/mufflers only work on the smaller diesels. I'm currently playing a pack "Create beyond creativity" and it's got the Diesel Engines mod, and "The Factory must grow" Both of which I can forsee being a staple in the tube diet. Now.... I just need to find the config that makes "crude oil" universal between the two pa ks. Because finding crude, building a pump jack, loading it on a train, and getting it all the way to your refinery just to find out.... it's the wrong kind of "Crude" is weaksauce. But other than that, it's been fun so far!
@@Xander081987 If anything I'm stealing the term "weaksauce" and trying my best to use it as much as possible tomorrow. 😂Haven't messed with TFMG mod at all yet. I'll have to take a look at that pack that you mentioned too.
Tube! You should check out the Hard Rock modpack, it would really put your create skills to the test! You can build boats to go along with your create trains!
I'm loving this pack. Would be cool to see Tube make a series for it. I don't think you need the pipez upgrade to filter in that situation. You can lock items in the inventory of the crafter so only those items can be pulled out. The upgrade will move stuff faster. Also, look at the compacting upgrade for Sophisticated Storage chests. Really simple way to get those ores.
