Dude you get right to the point THANK YOU, I live in the Japanese mountains and have a fresh lawn of Zoysia which has got a nasty case of brown patching and god its a nightmare over here trying to find the right stuff, but with the knowledge your throwing out holy hell its feeling much more simpler!
Your videos are great and just subscribed about a week ago. Thank you for taking the time to help us! I just asked myself if aeration could help my lawn, found your video, and it seems you described exactly what I’m seeing in my lawn, with thick lush areas and other areas that are flat and thin. My gut would say try not to do this during rainy seasons so the holes don’t just fill in. I see you’ve recommended spring and fall based on others’ questions, but given the choice which would you say is best? I have St. Augustine grass in NE Florida (Clay County). Thank you!

I have it on my 1 month old new st augustine, after first mow it looks like the grass in the video green but brown mixed in. Google search I have read Clearys 3336 works great. Not sure what to do? WWhat Can I spray to kill the fungus and green up the lawn? I'm in Ft. Lauderdale for weather refernce. thanks
I set my mower to one click lower then highest level to get rid of some dead grass between grass spots that made grass look brown.I will fill with mix. Did I do the wrong thing trying to cut a little lower in trouble area. Lately been raining everyday in Orlando.
Would you recommend a liquid pre-emergent or granular? I am new to the area and have only used Scotts weed and feed in April and Oct but I still see weeds throughout the year even after using that.
Since I have acres I have been mowing with a zero turn, does the weight of the mower compact the soil? How often should I aerate? Didn’t catch the army worm attack which left a portion of my lawn looking dead. Hopefully my lawn service got it under control, now waiting for it to come back.🙏🏻
Watched whole thing to hear what fertilizer and weed killer to use (ratios of each?) and when. You’re talking to greens keepers, not amateurs with lawns. WARN THE AUDIENCE so we don’t waist our time!
i had my front yard sodded with palisades zoysia in may of this year (2024). it looks great, but i don't know if i need to put fall fertilizer down (i've read not to) or if i should put something else, or nothing. i'm in texas, usda plant hardiness zone 8b, texas gardening zone 3. in all honesty, i know NOTHING about grass, or zones, or any of it! just want to take care of the zoysia, it was too $$$ to mess it up! ((all i've done so far is water regularly.)) any info is appreciated.
I live in zone 8 and have Meyer Zoysia. I have an irrigation system. After a couple of weeks of much milder weather and cool nights, it has warmed up again here, in the 3rd week of Sept. I would like to keep my lawn green, at least relatively close to the first light frost. Can I put a half amount of 16-4-8 down, keep it watered - or another formulation to keep the green as long as possible? In the coming week, my high temps are projected to be around 80. What would you do? Thanks!
Very informative video. Thank you. New build home in Sarasota with St. Aug. sod/grass and sandy soil. I plan to do my own fertilizer program. It's been a long time since I've done it. How do I calculate the number of lbs. of nitrogen per square foot? Is the nitrogen % noted on the fertilizer bag? Thanks again for the straightforward, informative video.
Man I sprayed the Spectracide yellow top hose mix stuff and the sht killed a lot of my Saint Augustine grass I sprayed it on. Not sure if it was that or maybe it let some take all come in after killing the weeds. The SA grass I sprayed it on started getting weak looking then you could pull blade clusters off and it was kind of rotting at the knuckle of the blade. Now all that grass is dead but it was in patches.

I started putting this grass into my back yard but the soil is really dry and compact. I dont think it’s going to make it. If i go and mix it with a soil it can grow in should i be okay ?
