It’s a problem when it’s spiking to 16/17 volts and then back down to 12 volts (just running off battery) then spiking all in a matter of a few seconds that’s what I meant when I was talking about that !
Great job, - I would have concerns on that rear end handling all that power. It also seems you have a very difficult time keeping the power down. Hard to use that at the race track... All that being said it sounds wonderful. I had a 2004 version for 8 years - most reliable car I've ever owned. Moved on to a porsche 911 Turbo. I think you've done a great job.
What is with people calling any sports car that was made by a Japanese manufacturer "JDM"? Look up 'Japanese domestic market'. Read those words until you understand them. Now, look at what side of the car the steering wheel is. "I got a JDM car" "Oh, cool! Where did you get your JDM car from." "Honda of Fontana"
I'm not sure if anyone will see this soon, but I found an LS2-swapped 350Z however, since it’s not a build I did myself but will be bought , I’m unsure if it’s worth buying. I’m also a bit concerned about its reliability. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! chassis 117k km and 50k on engine if he is not lying.
@@lycan000 the reliability of a build is always how it’s been put together what corners where cut and things like that. If you go over it and make sure everything is solid I’m sure you will be good for reliability! Mine has not let me down once. As long as tuning is good as well something to keep in mind
@@wade_debo Thanks for the quickest reply! I really appreciate the advice, and I’ll definitely make sure to go over everything and check that it’s solid. I’ll keep tuning in mind too. Thanks again!
@@mrvazquez1535 trans holds up great ! They definitely can handle good power lots of people are running up to 1000 hp on them as long as you get the cd009 #2
Hi Wade, can you recommend a good shop that can rebuild a V161 transmission here in canada. Ive spoken to Jacks Transmission and its crazy expensive. Also what transmission are you running. I would love you to take a look at my car :)
@@henoccharlot708 there is a video on the dyno you can see the numbers there if you like ! I just tuned it right away I didn’t do a before and after due to everything being swapped and then straight to street tune then dyno tune.
Came across your video and was wondering if there’s anyway I can reach you for a one on one. I had some questions about how to retain body control functionality with the LS swap. Thanks In advance
When you mentioned the cams & headers maxing out the VQ, I felt that. lmao. I'm playing that game still, if my DE blows again, I'll either part out or just VHR swap now that swap kits made it easier
@@jellofuel for sure ! Like I said to nothing wrong with the vq just gets to a point where you really gotta build them to get some good power with boost and such ! I wonder how nice the kits are for VHR are. How involved it is to
Me want. I'll trade you for an all original (even the tires and brakes) Lemans sunset with burnt orange interior with 42,000 Km. Documented 1 of the 1st 350zees sold in North America. Performance package Bose, 18# rims. Came with lots of stuff like a hard cover book on the history of the Z cars, postcards, a letter, and a dvd. Only driven in rain 3-4 times. Can eat off every part and finally not even any sun swirls in the paint. Almost Barrett Jackson perfect.
2003. I bought it used with 5000 Km in 2004. Garage kept and covered. I probably have more hours into washing than driving hours. Of course it is highway miles
I'm running a 2.76 R200 out of a Infiniti Q45 on my 350z. Pairs up perfectly with a Quaif LSD for 350z auto (no half stub change required). You only need to swap the driveshaft flange over to bolt right up. 20% taller gearing, 120kph in my 350z is now just under 2100 RPM.
So I use Lawrence shipman for my tuning ! He is the 2jz god he remotes in for me and I rent a dyno from CCP in Kitchener area. You can rent any dyno really as long as you coordinate your tuner and dyno people !
Man that's nice!!! ...what do you think is the cheapest it would cost to drop ls in and run . Only reason I wanna cheap-out is I have an auto-immune neurological central nervous system disease that can take me out at anytime . So I wanna have fun now while I can...thanks to whoever has some advice...I've already searched google, evidently I'm not asking right
@wade_debo ....Thank you for your reply .....if have a minute can you answer a few more questions? If so i sure appreciate it ......I already have a L92 and ecu out of a wrecked denali and a t56....taking that into consideration how much you reckon it would cost and what exactly do I need just to get it rolling and communicating with the gages in the car.
Cool build I am doing a build with similar intentions in a Mazda rx8. LS3, T56 magnum, ford 8.8 with 3.73 gears. It really is impressive that the cd009 can take that kind of abuse! A t56 magnum was around $4500 CAD, but then you need to change your driveshaft, change the shifter, get a new clutch, get a bell housing etc definitely can add up
Oh for sure that’s why I’m a little hesitant to make the switch to t56 since the trans feels very close to oem in the car despite the shifter being pretty close it drives like it used it with the v6 in it cruising and such. I would probably switch the rear end before anything for longer gear choice !
For sure it can ! I just didn’t have it in mind at the time I have it prepped for it tho ! It’s not to hot in my area I’m more of a windows down drive and cruise kind !
@wade_debo good to know cause it's not getting any cooler in Texas. I'm thinking about getting a sedan like a G35/37 so I can keep the wife happy as I already have a 1991 Toyota MR2 😁but who says sedans have to be boring 😂😂😂
No the stock alternator is good it’s not gonna be for competition by any means for sound systems but it will give what you need or really what your ears can handle for power! lol
Depends the quality of the build and how good of shape the car is ! I would say mine is very clean low km and done right in my opinion I would sell for 55,000 or 60,000 it’s immaculate condition under and on paint.
If you have some knowledge of working on cars I would say this would be not a hard job it’s mainly just making sure everything lines up properly and things are routed properly and away from heat to reduce the risk of a fire or melting things.
