After analyzing several comments from Farmers (excluding appreciation comments), here are the actual problems the famers are facing Theft: Sandalwood trees are a valuable commodity, making them susceptible to theft. Many farmers have reported losing their trees to thieves. Government Regulations: There are strict government regulations surrounding the cultivation and sale of sandalwood trees. These regulations can be burdensome for farmers, limiting their ability to profit from their crops. Long Cultivation Period: Sandalwood trees have a long cultivation period, often taking decades to mature. This can be a significant financial burden for farmers, as they must wait many years before realizing a return on their investment. Lack of Support: Some farmers have expressed frustration with the lack of support available to them from government agencies and other resources. This can make it difficult for farmers to navigate the challenges of sandalwood farming. Difficulty Selling: Farmers may face difficulties selling their sandalwood, particularly if they are unable to meet the government's requirements for certification or if they are dealing with middlemen who offer low prices. Soil and Climate Constraints: Sandalwood trees have specific soil and climate requirements. Farmers who do not have suitable land may face challenges in cultivating this crop.
getting farmhands that are loyal is big big luxury.. what she probably doesnt tell in video is amount of time she would invest in each of farmhands paying ofr thier childrens education helping them with medical bills giving them gifts at festivals .. these all matter.
I am a farmer, I got 20 acres farm which I have grown myself. I know bit more reality than this video's claims. So many have grown Sandal wood and cut them down to plant traditional cash crops. Sandalwood take unusually long time. I had 10 plants and I cut them after 15 years. Well grown one was about 4 inch diameter. It may take 30 more years to develop heartwood - may be! Agarwood came and not single farmer got a rupee; now it is used like firewood. The people who sell the plants (nursery people) like Kavita Mishra made money, who sell services (irrigation, fertilizer, pesticides) have made money. However, not farmers. If there is so much money, corporates would have gotten into farming; they do due-dilligence before investing. Drone Pratap is not the only con in the world. Every alternate month, we will have someone coming to our farms - selling these great opportunities or some great products. Now I dont argue with them, I claim ignorance and send them back.
No support from govt. Especially in Southern india. No nurseries no saplings no subsidy. Modis Bamboo Mission is a made a failure by the govt. employees

One more suggestion from the safety viewpoint.... Please keep some 15 to 20 large-sized goose and ducks near the boundary in the cages or let them roam free... in case any thief or trespasser enters, they make a lot of noise and wake up the sleeping dogs and guards. Many people use these tactics as the ducks always remain watchful. Plus, keeping some free-roaming guineafowls on the farm will rid you of snakes. Wish you best of luck !!
You're my inspiration Kavitha Mishra. I'll also start Red Sandalwood, Betel Nuts, Ginger and Cannabis farming next year in my village in Manipur. ❤ I think we can't become a Millionaire by doing Govt. Job. Farming is the only and fastest way to become a Super Rich Man.
