I purchased the 5w DIY Kit from Algolaser. I set it up and purchased the cover and air assist. I noticed your laser where the power button is different than mine. Mine has a key to turn it on/off. I thought you had to use Lightburn or laserGRBL to use the machine. Total newbie here. Just need help to use my machine.
@@elliemerritt665 you can use either program. But Algo has they’re on app and software too. My laser is the older version, the newest version has the different control panel.
@@coleminorkustoms8594 thank you! tried one last night, pretty good results, I think just depends on the source material. but mine came out pretty decent for a first try. I have an M1 so im thankful you had a video that used my device. New subscriber alert!
@@ladiesm2 thank you, that’s great to hear! I will be putting more content out soon. Also look at my short videos, most of them do have the settings for the M1
@@rommysetyananda9037 you would have to place the machine on top of the slab and center it up as best as you can. Then you would need to use open plane and then select auto measure.
You'll want to get a mic that you can wear at the intro part. Your volume is low and the reverb in the room is quite high. Adding some sound dampening would also help if you choose to not use the mic.
I’ve looked everywhere for a video like this. Thank you for uploading the vid, definitely solidified my decision to purchase the m1. Quick question though, do you happen to know just how small and tight the engravings can be without the details getting muddled up on silicone? I cannot find a single video that has anything smaller than a dog tag sized engraving. Thanks again for your video!
I have a hat press, but i have issues with the press leaving wrinkles in the front of the hat and getting the hat to sit properly while pressing. This process looks like a better way to apply patches. What heat setting do you have your gun set at?
I use a heat gun that only has 2 settings, high and low. I use the low settings. The idea thing is to heat the patches up enough so the adhesive starts looking like a liquid and the edges start to curl. Then place it on the hat as quickly as possible and firmly press. Then reheat the patch on the hat and press again with your palm. I have a more in depth video on my page feel free to check it out. This version does allow you of not having press marks on the hats.
Thank you! This was a very helpful video. I have been searching how to use the m1 for the last week. And this is the best video for anyone starting out. You explained it clearly and even showed from start to finish. Thank you again!
when it finishes engraving, do you clean the ash off, and if so what technique do you use? Everytime I go to clean it off, it tends to get the area on the leather that was not engraved slightly dirty from wiping in that area. Just curious how you handle that.
LA awesome works great to clean the leatherette. White leatherette is much harder to clean, so I suggest on the cutting perimeter to lower the power with faster cuts to help reduce the ash residue.
