Personally I didnt think it would make that much of a difference, but it’s completely change the bike and how I ride for the better. Best money I’ve spent on it so far.
I've got a 22 rocket gt and had no idea the engine could be tuned to such an extant. Looking forward to getting the next service done. Great video. Also I only use the clutch to take off or on the really slow stuff so I thought the change shifter wouldn't make any difference. Am I wrong? I'm now booked in to have de-tuning done next fortnight. The quote is $870, they tell me it takes a full day, then 'Gorgeous' is getting detailed with a ceramic coat straight after. They did the same model a couple of weeks ago and got an extra 30 horsepower out of it.
Hi, Great question, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure, I do have a VERY big chain on mine, not sure if its a 22mm, but it was the biggest in the store so I would say yes it does the holes are quite big.
@@HastingsKickboxingAcademy The biggest chain I've seen is the squire behemoth..22mm..or the Oxford beast..22mm.. squire seems the best choice although the hip lock dx1000 d lock is the best anti angle grinder resistant.
Hi mate what’s the chances you still have the little camera cover clip? Im on the hunt for one as I don’t have the front camera and have a grill with a camera hole. Thanks.
It's mad I tell you. Got mine as one of the first in Belgium. Remapped it the year after and I guarantee it's the kind of fast you never really get used to. I'm never selling this 😂👌
Hi, Thank you, and yes they are, BTH the only time I feel heat is in traffic when its 30 degrees plus, which is all of 2 times a year, other than that, never been an issue at all.
Why not just fit the GT handlebars on the R? You're contemplating midpegs, as well. You already had them on the R. The GT is three kilos heavier dry. Useful video. Nick
Great questions. I wanted the GT as it was a tripple black model and it was a BARGIN price where I’ll make money on it when I sell 🙏 Swooping the R handle bars was a lot more of a motivation to do than the pegs. The GT was 2 years newer. And to be honest, I’m not a good enough rider to notice the 3 kgs. I’ll just train harder. ;). Ride safe buddy
I would class the triumph quickshifter as ok the one on my previous bike the quickshifter was smoother (gsxr1000r).Still worth getting on the Triumph though .Great set of videos on your bikes .👌 .
Tyvm for the video. I’m getting older and a couple of years ago i switched from the Kawa GTR to a Triumph Tiger soly for the weight. And i have to keep that very hard in mind every time i see this bike. It’s the beauty and the beast all in one. Enjoy it!
Great question, and the simple answer is yes. But only by 5-10%. So only fractionally louder, what is has done is added a much sexier tone, especially on full throttle, a lot more induction deeper grunt grow, as it’s added 30% more suction 🫣🤣🙏 and who doesn’t live that. Hope that helps/makes sense.
I'm 5'9 and sat on both. The GT felt amazing to me, but all my friends are dissing it and say the R is cooler. I'm so torn... At the moment I ride a Speedmaster and feels super comfy. Before this I had the Bobber and it felt like the R. So I kinda know the difference in ride style but I find it so difficult to choose. I like their style but I ride everyday and I need comfort and bags etc I will get one or the other in a few weeks, hope I won't regret my choice
I completely get that! And that’s one of the reasons I maybe got pushed over the buy the R, and don’t get me wrong, amazing bike. But it didn’t take long for the “very slightly” lent forward position worn thin. Then tried the GT and immediately didn’t care, what my mates thought! And the comfort out performed their thoughts 💭 THEN the added power destroying them every time! Well upto the speed limit of course. It’s always a personal choice, but I would think of you first 🙏 Either bike are AMAZING though.
I test rode both a couple years ago, and it actually pushed me towards buying the older one. and this was after I concluded that the newer one was a better bike in every conceivable way. for me, as I already had a super performance bike, buying the rocket was never about how well it rode or how good the brakes were, it was about getting the biggest baddest cruiser I could find and in my opinion that was the older model. I purchased a near perfect condition 2016 Rocket X number 424/500, with dave platt exhaust, fat T bars, and a corbin single seat.
I 100% understand your thinking and logic behind this, the older one does have something about it, that the new one doesn’t. The first terminator is still the best one there was, even though the new one is quicker, faster, harder and can do more. The OG has that genesisquoi. 😅 (or however that’s spelt) I love my new GT. But the old one won’t be forgotten 🙏
Sorry yes I got ya. No, I’m 5’7”. But I’m super short in the leg. 28”. Both legs down I’m about 1” away of both heels. 👠 1 foot down. Yes easy and the big is very well balanced.
Thanks for the comparison mate . I found it difficult in Melbourne too to get a test ride on the rockets as there seems to be no demo bikes available. This is so weird. This is an amazing bike but no matter what you hear and see until you try it yourself there’s no way to know. I feel the BMW Motorrad guys have nailed it getting to the customers by letting us test ride their motorbikes. They had a two day test ride event of R18 and let you test all models if you like which helped me find the right model for myself. I really like the Rocket but Wish brands like Triumph could have some test ride day events. Yes Rocket is an expensive bike but so are the R18s and Diavels 😊
This is what I have heard also, thank you. I love Triumphs. Bought my first Triumph trophy back in 1966 when I was in highschool. Back then,it was Triumph and Harley, BSA and Norton.
Is the ride the same on both the gt and the r? One guy said the gt rides better. What you say? Thank you for your videos on this bike. I am looking to buy one.
Hi, thanks for the question, and no there are differences, The R is defo a more aggressive style, the handlebars and peg position really makes a BIG difference, The R is better if you LOVE attacking corners and going out with H2's on an early Sunday blast! The GT is a lot better for a cruise, and a faster ride out, I have short legs so NEEDED the mid-peek, but this then made the GT more responsive and gave me (personally) a real happy medium... I went out for my first blast this year, and it's AWESOME... If you're a bit of a cruiser-type GT! If you like a little fun GT with Mid pegs! If you're a racer/track person R! Hope that makes sense/helps. - They both are great and I don't think you be disappointed. Happy rider buddy.
Hey dude need some help… seriously considering getting one of these but unsure is stock exhaust is loud enough … you seem to know your rockets, thoughts on standard exhaust?
Hey buddy, thank you and great question. The stock Exhaust is on the quiet side, but sounds stunning. For me the works pipes sounded AMAZING- however at 70-85mph the drone sound absolutely wore me down, after 45 mins on the A21. So round town and on a quick blast there sexy as. On a long run summer afternoon cruise. They gave me head ache. Mapping it has 100% made a good difference to the sound. More induction. Light pops and bangs. I also believe if you know someone who’s good at welding. You can remove the baffle that’s inside the center box.
