I was 17 and getting ready to graduate high school. I watched this live on TV, and it was the damnedest I'd ever seen. The driver owned the dealership that provided the pace car. I remember thinking he looked like he was going way too fast after leaving the track, but this guy is a pro and he knows what he's doing...no, wait!
He should have just stayed on the track. Looks like he would have won. Those old Mopars were the BOSS. 426 Hemis, 440 Six Packs... you just _can't stop an old Mopar!_
Who's bonehead idea was it to have a local dealership owner drive a convertible with John Glenn in it as the pace car? At the 2018 Canadian F1 race someone let a super model be the flag girl, she was so busy admiring herself she waved the checkered flag one lap early.
So the new gen 7 brakes are different but the brakes we had on gen1-6. Yes the brakes work good here but what people don’t understand is. In order to win a road course in the stock car who ever saves there brakes is who will win. Literally in 10-15 laps ive wore them completely down when I first started out. Open wheel I love the carfib. And the new gen 7 has way better brakes for endurance unfortunately it makes it easier to use which is a negative. You want the brakes to be tiny cheap basics car pads I don’t think you want drivers having good brakes. Formula 1 it’s part of the competition who can build a car to turn a corner the fastest under full control
@georgemallory797 you need to see this... Brake failure my butt. They tried that line when Princess Grace drove off a cliff. That's as sad as "but officer my speedometer said 55". It was plain old FUBAR
As a Former Jeff Gordon fan and Larson fan this made me laugh so hard and I totally agree Logano is indeed a dirty racer. Great job Tony 😆😆😆😆 0:17 😆😆😆😆😂😂😂
Tony literally has driven everything on wheels. True Motorsport legend. I was so happy to see Tony get in the McLaren at Watkins Glen; and definitely happy for Lewis getting to drive a stock car. Fun day that will never be forgotten!
