If it is a new BU, sometimes Safehouse is not enabled by default. Even if you configure in File Locations and try sending it in automation, it will be placed in EFTP. Please raise a support case to enable Safehouse for your BU - provide the MIDs for all BUs you need this enabled in the ticket.
Script activities / automation studio activities run in the background - so you cannot use user interaction functions like Write or Output. You need to use a Data Extension to store logs and then have the error inserted as a record into the DE in the catch section (of the try-catch) with timestamp.

I can't hear you and it took a lot to you to begin explain the activity, next videos try to go direct to the point and raise the volume... try to edit the audio before you can upload a video.
Hi Shibu (@sfmcTrailblazers) , is it Possible to have a excel file in FTP folder. I am trying to generate a report and need the report in Excel format instead of CSV.
What is the best way to troubleshoot a send email error? It never says anything other than "ERROR: Error has occurred." And the "View Activity Details" looks like everything is correct...
Just watched Day 05 on SFMCTrailblazers, great insights on email deliverability guys! However, have you ever tried Mystrika? It is a legend when it comes to cold emailing, nothing else comes close.
Awesome discussion about email deliverability on SFMCTrailblazers! I was wondering if you have ever used Mystrika for cold emails? I have seen my sales grow exponentially with it!
how is it fair .. its only import csv and it gets extracted to content builder.. no samples for importing photos or other files which can be used to be linked in email.. ?? :(
Hi, Your video is super informative. I'm really eager to dive deeper into Marketing Cloud and would love to get some hands-on experience. Would you be able to provide me with access to a Marketing Cloud playground? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I have a question, what if the folder where the file transfer need to identify for the file location is a dynamic folder and the name changes based on the date, will the file transfer and import activities still be able to perform?
From Trailhead : Marketing Cloud Connect requires a relationship between a single Marketing Cloud account and a Salesforce CRM org. "...It’s possible to connect a Marketing Cloud account to multiple Salesforce CRM orgs.." Can you explain your slide named "Not supported MC Configuration.."?
You can connect one Business Unit (BU) in an MC Org to one and only one SF CRM instance. However an MC Org can have multiple BUs - and if Multi-org is enabled in MC, then you can technically connect each BU to a different SF CRM instance. You can even have multiple BUs connecting to the same SF CRM instance.
Not that I know of - the Data Extract activity pulls the full DE. But you could use a SQL Query activity prior to the Data Extract to pull in only the fields you need temporarily to a new DE and then do the data extract from this new DE. You can later delete the temporary one that you created.
Thank you so much for this! Im doing a Mobile Connect subscription in cloud page via rest API. Thanks for this contribution Once I finish it I will be sharing it back to the community as well the solution I have done.
You can use the DataExtension related REST APIs for this - there's both asynchronous and synchronous APIs - developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/marketing-cloud/guide/asynchronous_processing_scenarios.html. The examples in the documentation should be simple enough to follow.
The folder is configured in File locations under setup. So if u are looking to use a specific folder / subfolder, ensure u have a File Location created for each folder u wish to reference. Then in the automation, when you select the File Location, the folder path will automatically be selected based on the configuration from setup > file locations.
Hi shibu, Hope you are active on youtube I watched this video , this video is something I'm looking for %%FileName_From_Trigger%% when i tried this string for file name pattern it won't work for me. I don't know why ? Give ERROR: Import failed: File not found matching the pattern EnhancedSFTP://Import/%%FileName_From_Trigger
@@sfmctrailblazers Yes i'm doing it for file drop entry source but what I caught is if i'm selecting the location Import then only it works . if i have any folder in import and adding the file into that folder it is not catch that file.
@@PriyanshuJain-tn7tm when you use the subfolder, did you set up a separate File Location in setup to denote that subfolder? Mktg Cld does not recursively go into subfolders and check for files dropped - it only looks at the root of the folder you specify in Location. If you have a subfolder under Import called ABC, then you need to create a new File Location for ABC using the Relative path option and specify Import\ABC - and then use this as the location.
In this case, what's the primary key in the resulting DE? As it's one to many relationship, the customer id is repeated and the order id is null in some records. Thanks!
It is not always necessary that you must have a primary key - you need to evaluate how you would be using the data. If you expect that the customer record should be unique in a DE, then yes you need a unique identifier like customer id as PK. But lets say you are using a DE for Journey entry where the customer may reenter multiple times - setting a primary key in such cases will cause the reentries to fail. A PK is not mandatory for a DE but need to be used appropriately based on the scenarios where the data will be used
