Amazing!! Considering purchasing either this or Lumix S5, both of which have non-existent AF-C. I was wondering if its easy to focus manually for these shots? Do you set the focus at infinity most of the time, since your footage is so accurately focused.
Thanks a lot! Manual focus is something that requires a lot of practice, but once you get the hang of it, a lot of us actually much prefer focusing manually.. It has changed how I shoot significantly, but no, I do not set my focus to infinity all the time.. You can use focus peaking, to make sure you're in focus.. Hope this helps!
Really cool video! Thanks! I was wondering, the Canon nFD 35mm f2.0 is a 55mm filter, and the Aivascope has an 52mm mouting clamp. How did you put the aivascope on this lens ? Thank you :)!
Hey Alex! First of all the results & gradings are amazing! Secondly which adapter do you use? Any advice especially for the crop facor? Saw multiple on the interner which intended to correct the crop factor by 1.44x . Greetings from germany!
Hey! Thanks a lot for the compliment! I converted my lenses to EF using the Simmod conversion kits! Super easy to do, and it gives you the best results! Which camera are you shooting on?
@@z4yn165 Awesome! Yeah, I strongly recommend Simmod.. Most adapters out there often use extra glass which deteriorates the image quite a bit when shooting wide open.. Converting a lens gives you a way better result, and companies like simmod takes the flange distance into consideration in their design, and includes shims, which allows you to focus to infinity, which is often a problem with adapters!
@@alexcormier97 Yes, but I believe that the noise from a camera can also look cinematic. Therefore, I would like to see how the camera reveals its potential with high ISO values
great work brother, would you mind sharing the cine setup used to capture, i have seen glimpse of previous videos where you are using black magic system. great work continue inspiring
Thank you very much! Thanks for the idea! I certainly will be working on a new video, where I explain my settings/how to expose properly with Blackmagic cameras!👍
Beautiful absolutely great work and showcasing! Your channel quality is not reflected in the number of subscribers. Onward and upward because you will have a huge channel soon ! Thank you for the value.
I used the Halation plugin from FilmConvert, and I strongly recommend it! It will be available to the public on November 20th! So much better than any halation tool I've ever used! You can actually use the code: ALEX10 at checkout, and get 10% off the plugin!🤟
Dude, this drone reel is straight-up cinematic wizardry, no kidding! I mean, the aerial game in 2023 is on a whole new level, and I'm seriously vibin' with every single moment of it. Those shots? As sharp as a tack, and the composition is like a work of art. The way you're snagging those jaw-dropping landscapes and cityscapes is just mind-blowing. Major props to you, my friend, for keeping the awesomeness alive!
It's a mix of Film Convert, and using the tools in Davinci Resolve, like power windows, and keying to maintain great dynamic range on such a small sensor👍
Wow. I watch a lot of videos on cinematic shorts on facebook. Sometimes it's good and sometimes bad. Most of the time I tent to find something interresting with the video, for example the scene, the light, the music, the filming technique or the grading. Occasionally these criterias will be combined - and that makes me really happy (inside). Watching this reel makes me brathless. Yes, its absolutely true. I should be working now, but I'm obviously not. The scenes, the contrasts, the perspectives, the music and the combination of it all is stunning. (I thing the bicycle scene is my favourite). But the grading - IT IS SENSATIONAL!!! How do you do it??! Anyway. I checkt a few more of your videos. The one with your father. The one from New York. Same thing. Everything is so good - and the grading is beyond perfect!!! How do you do it? Because I want to (need to, desire the ability to be able to) do excactly the same. And yes. I subscribe🙂
Hi Sven! You have no idea how much I appreciate your message! Sometimes, I wonder why I spend so much time on these videos, but comments like these give me the answer! I learned a lot of my grading techniques from Waqas Qazi, a professional colorist who's also on RU-vid! I strongly recommend you to have a look at his channel! To answer your question, Film Convert has helped me to get to the next level in terms of grading, and I strongly recommend it! If you have any more questions about grading, or Film Convert, please don't hesitate🤟
Dude, your Iceland video is epic! Those BMPCC6k PRO shots are insane. It's like I'm right there with you on Iceland's Ring Road, experiencing all that beauty. Your editing and music are spot-on, and this video is pure travel inspiration. Keep 'em coming, man! 👏👏👏 HUGE like 316
