It’s so weird being at Ground Zero. Not weird in the conventional sense, but weird in the sense of location. Here you are, in one of the busiest cities on the planet, and it’s quiet. Outside the gate is the sound of the city, and inside, whether by design, or luck, all you hear are your own thoughts. I’ve been there once, it took everything to not cry. I was teary eyed of course, but holy cow, the silence there is probably the loudest sound in NYC.
This brief bit made me search for that song after it aired in 1999. I was fortunate several years later to find this special on DVD. It's mostly a clip show, of course; but the DVDs played a lot more clips as well as a never before seen "mockumentary" on Hans and Franz.
George Bush should be in jail for murdering people that day everyone knows he may 9/11 happen he's a terrorist to America what should be in jail for being a terrorist

Also a fire truck that was heavly damaged also.this date will never be forgot while im alive.and to the first responders and all of the victims families everyone is in my heart and prayers.
I haven't watched this version before and was singing along with it [be thankful you can hear me] but I lost it at 1:13. As a vet I lost it over the those coffins.
The line about wanting to slam uncle sam but i wont let you is famtastic. We know America's not perfect- and we do call out those responsible- something we can only do because of our founding fathers and our troops. But though we are not blind, ignorant, or drones- we are FIERCLY proud. And while truely knowing that we're not perfect (neither are you or anyone ekse for that matter) we WILL NOT accept disrespect and we will not be shamed for having and expressing pride in what we have, and especially our fierce and heroic and lethal troops who give it all to ensure we get to keep a land that allows us to debate and protest and call for change. Brcause we shoud never forget- we are a country eith a govenment: (created) BY the people, (made up) OF the people, (and designed to benefit/work) FOR the people.
I was 10 years old when I watched 9/11 with everyone else. As a police officer with almost 10 years on now, I realize that was the moment that started my life on a path I never would have gone down otherwise.
