The gloves should definitely help as my hands got sweaty, also i broke my needle trying to bend it more as the curve from one hole to the next is extreme on mini cooper upper bolster, tough leather for sure!
A better way i think, is to use a two part adhesive that you apply to the underside of the vinyl, and to the material you're going to place under the split. Wait for the adhesive on both the vinyl, and the material to dry, which takes about 5 minutes, then place the material under the split, and using a Tefalon sheet, gently heat the area using an iron. The heat will reactivate the glue, and set within 20 seconds. A very strong and quick repair, and if you do it right, there's virtually no sign of the split/repair.
@@trytellingthetruth.2068 there are so many different methods you can use. But when the clients states what they want we deliver what they want. The client is king, if the client is requesting something that isn’t achievable then we will advise them if this. We could even go one further and spray on grain if this client wanted that.

Waste of time and money . I would have spent 50 dollars and went to eBay and bought a used door card that was in close to perfect condition . I wouldn’t have accepted this work if I was paying for a repair sorry , but I am a perfectionist
Fantastic video Richard!!, amazing to see these iconic seats being cleaned from such a historic aircraft!! Thank you so much for the shout out as well!!, I’m 100% behind LRC as the best leather products for automotive leather! (Without being paid to say so too 😅) I’ll def be looking out for those nasty chemicals in other leather cleaners if I’m reviewing them, looking forward to seeing more from the Concorde restoration soon, take care 👌
Great video on cleaning such iconic seating, fantastic to listen to the commentary about the colour too. If it wasn't for GM Details I wouldn't have found your fantastic product range. I won't use anything else now, I love your bamboo pads with the LRC 1 cleaner for hard to reach areas.
Obrigado e parabens pelo trabalho!😊 Hi, I discovered your work yesterday, my car seat is hard and dry, it would definitely solve my problem but I'm in Brazil, can you tell me about some type of oil or product that I can find here that could be softening it? the leather again? Thank you and congratulations for your work!
I have tried and tested this with a brand new leather jacket. It got soaked through in minutes when I first wore it in the wet, ordered this only half expecting it to make any difference. It is brilliant! not only made the jacket have a nice sheen but kept it as water proof as is reasonably possible for leather and the small bottle lasted the whole year Excellent stuff! I Don't know why on the website it does not brag about it's waterproofing properties. I only put on my Fully water tight, over jacket, ( You could keep gold fish in the pocket of that but it's hassle) now if I know its a proper down pour for more than 30 mins. All motorcyclists should know more about this product.
What is the best leather dye to use. I’ve got a white leather jacket and would like to dye it Tan or Brown as it’s been sitting in my closet not used for years now. Please help
@@denisewellington355 speak to our team to get help from them email help@leatherrepaircompany.com tell them where you are in the world as there may be a local supplier who can help you, send them pictures of the jacket also please
I noticed that your jacket was a Hein Gereche; do you know what happened to the brand? They used to be considered one of the very best mc clothing manufacturers.
@@LeatherRepairUKmy bag doesn’t have piping, small holes. Do you have a video showing corner repairs without piping? Do your workshops cover this? Thanks
@@Eatsleeprun_rescuecats the bag has piping, we know what we are working on. If you wish to to get a quote for a piping repair like this handbag then email help@leatherrepaircompany.com for guidance But I can assure you this bag has piping we know what piping is
@@LeatherRepairUK😂 I think you’re misunderstanding me. I know the bag you’re working on has piping, I can see it. Im asking do you have any other videos repairing a bag that doesn’t have piping on the corners . I have a bag with no piping that has corner holes but I’m struggling to find a video of a repair on a bad that doesn’t have piping
@@Eatsleeprun_rescuecats you didn’t ask that question, the question you asked originally made out we were repairing a bag that didn’t have piping If you had said to you have any videos showing bags being repaired that do have piping that’s a different question Simply it’s the same process
@@LeatherRepairUK I was thinking of using a heat gun, only a little, on a low setting to help make the leather a little more pliable for inserting the needle. ok idea? perhaps this heat will help soften the wax to make it a little easier to pull through?
@@malangamba it depends on the type of suede, each type is different, going to such light colors like white is very hard indeed, it would be a matter or trial and error, we have never tried to to know

Thanks for the awesome video and the tips for making the repair last. the problem I am going to tackle is almost the same and now I have the confidence to do it. Cheers.
Great video - exactly what I needed. I have a small tear just like this on the side of a vintage car seat (Morris minor vinyl) that I want to repair. Can I ask what the backing material that you used is? Is it just another piece of vinyl or something else?
But you don't show what glue you used or the way it was applied, and then at the end where most of the details need to be seen, you go off camera and then show it when it's all done...???
