I rly dislike Mercedes as of late. Their interior quality has gone WAY down. Just hear him grabbing that part at 10:43 , it sounds absolutely like hard plastic. That steering wheel looks like its all plastic and has leather like in my aunts 2016 VW Golf... The leather quality also looks pretty dreadful for a car this expensive. The "wood" feels more like hard matte plastic that actual hard wood like in old cars, its probably a rly thinn layer. The touch controls on the steering wheel are HORRIBLE and just remind you of the plastic on the wheel even more. And the dash squeaks when you press on it. This is the same for all Mercedes SUV's, no better quality than an A class just looks better and is more spacious. I am really disapointed with Mercedes as of lately. Now lets talk BMW. The leather looks and feels 10 times better. The quality alltogether inside feels way nicer and fuller and more rigid. You can SEE the difference in quality, if you get to seat in these cars how they feel is miles apart. Now to critique the bmw, why are the buttons for the seat adjustment on the door plastic? This new UI is extremely cluttered and not easy to use at all, tho at least they let you customize how the icons are displayed so you can make it easier on yourself. I really dont care if the window buttons feel nice or not, theyre still plastic, shouldnt be in a car this expensive especially for sth you touch so often, tho its arguably way better plastic than on the GLE. The stitches in the BMW look way straighter than Merc. THANK GOD BMW KEPT THE PHYSICAL BUTTONS, altho plastic they feel fkin solid. The steering wheel including the leather just feels so much better in the hand. The exteriors are subjective ofc. But the interior on the bmw looks more modern, which is surprising to point out considering merc has been leading in looking more modern for a long long time between the 2. Sadly cant report on the driving, I only got to sit in both the cars but not drive them. But really, Mercedes inside quality, where you're gonna spend your time, it just feels horrible. Rly disapointed, hope they address this. For BMW i wish they had a bit more distinctiveness between their cars. This X6 gets the same screens as a 3 series... I mean yeah the dash design and interior lighting is a bit different but not really that massive. I'm not a bmw fanboy, but I sat in both cars and these were my thoughts. Also the new X1 and X3 look absolutely cheap inside aswell, this is just based off of photos tho, so I rly hope BMW isnt heading in the same direction as Merc here.
Great video @moscarblog I have an X5 50e M Sport Pro in Skyscraper Silver on order, swapping by MB EQC in January and can't wait! Your video has added to my excitement and although I live in the UK, so limited to 70mph max on the motorway, I plan to drive in Europe and look forward to putting it through it's paces on the Autobahn in the future.
@@Moscarblog So I have a buddy who ordered one with the full merino tartufo leather with ventilated seats. On the pre-LCI models, the ventilated parts of the seats were Vernasca leather (lower grade/quality leather) can you confirm whether they rectified that in this LCI model? Otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to spend that much money expecting quality merino seats only to get scammed by BMW lol
@@Weasel197 After writing this comment I checked with my dealership and they checked with BMW headquarters of my country. The perforated sections of the seats are of Vernasca Leather. Audi is also guilty of this.
One question: does this have vernasca leather in the middle part of the seat? The pre-LCI had that even if you opted for merino seats if they are ventilated.
