Earth is a neutral place. Everything has its positives and negatives. When you do pooja and chant mantras, a place can become positive. Arunachala was/is the abode of the great rishis and their divine vibrations are still present there. Once we calm our monkey minds down, we will be able to feel it. In a similar way, when we do bad things ( actions driven by ego) we distance ourselves from God and Our aura gets filled with negative energies and so does the place.
