UK people need to stop being from U.P and revert back to their pahadi roots. They might be hindu, but pahadi hindu is different. We have our own deities. Priporties them first that connect people and create unity among people. Stop align with U.P hindus and others. Create your own identity. Be proud of being a UK guy. Start calling yourself Pahadi and wear it as a badge. Be proud of your land and treat everyone who is born in your land as a pahadi instead of calling them by religion. No one is hindu, muslim, sikh. Only pahadi. Make land laws for uk people only, focus more on agriculture, promote local festivals, language, food. Kick those out who create ruckus in pahad. Choose politicians based on the fact that he or she will create UK a heaven, unity and promote pahadi culture. and not on religion. That's my suggestion as a fellow Himachali. Anoop ji, this was one of the best comparative descriptions of the two states. While Himachal had a head-start of 30 years as compared to Uttarakhand, I feel that we (UK) lost the opportunity to leapfrog and become an advance state. You have rightly highlighted the reasons for it. The principal reason of course is the difference in the way the states were led by the founding fathers. In case of HP, the state was nurtured to become a success story while in case of UK, the short term vision led to leaders only thinking about their own 5 years of rule and associated loot that followed. People living in high altitude is more in himachal making it heaven for its people while Uttrakhand people have to migrate to other states in more population as they don't have any secondary source of income.
