I was at this show and up close to see this legend. As I recall this was the opening song and sadly Levon’s “pipes” went downhill for the rest of the show with daughter Amy taking many vocals. RIP to a great artist! Only Garth remains.
Got news for you folks, ever hear of Sugarloaf? They put out that lame-ass song, "Green Eyed Lady", which is singularly forgettable. Their cover of "Chest Fever" is much, much better than The Band. For that matter, so is Three Dog Night's version...capatured live at the forum. Jimmy Greenspoon is materful, and much underrated for his Hammond B-3 abilities. Truly a "heart & soul" human being and artist. He's given the world so much love and his music "loves on" in a wealth of recordings, videos, and in the millions of musicians he's inspired. The iconic tragedy of musicians, addiction, hurt Levon horribly. Tobacco, cocaine, pot, meth... he and the Band were enabled by family, friends, and the music industry, to the point they could not work together; they endangered each other & their loved ones; myriad DWI injury accidents; and they started dying much too young. Let me tell you something. This was a magic time, a magic moment, Theresa was on Fire and the whole band was being held up by the Holy Spirit!
