It is hard to say because everyone has a different experience and pain tolerance. Some people have no problem at all while others find it very painful.
Worst mistake of my life! Terribly painful and I’ve had two kids. They recommended it for my heavy, painful periods. It did nothing for me. Decided to get it removed. Threads were missing. Ultrasound confirmed it and it’s out of place. Heading for an X-ray next. Terrified. Might need surgery they said. Medical professionals downplay the pain. Don’t do it!
Can you get epidural before? And if your already 2cms do you get this??? I'm going in 4hrs to get induced with my first baby I had 2 miscarriages before my miracle baby.
The cervix gradually dilates throughout the process. The 'latent phase' is 0-5 cm and is typically slow, the 'active phase' is 6-10 cm and is faster. Some inductions can take 2-3 days.
I really want my baby to come on his own now more than ever! This alone looks so painful. I was told that if he doesn't come in two weeks, they are inducing the next day after. Which is the last day of August.

Why do we have to do this? Why are doctors so strict and obstinate? Why wouldn't they go out of their way to find answers for you? Why are patients such an inconvenience to them? I don't understand but these are the only types of doctors I have had. They told me to go home and stop being anxious but I feel like that is an insult to my intelligence and self-awareness. I still have issues that I am dealing with 2 years later and some have gotten markedly worse. I hate it here.
I have DOR diagnosed after a previous ectopic pregnancy and I'm currently experiencing another ectopic pregnancy extremely early. Does MTX affect ovarian reserve?
Oh hell…. I always hated this. 1st time it fell out , pretty much gave birth w/o it, second time they waited too long to insert it and did it in like a mili second…. Gave me ptsd
For most people it is, people black out from this procedure. People even have a horrible time driving home afterward too, continue to bleed, etc. There's not enough talk on how painful this is, or what can be done about the pain. There's also lack of truthfulness in how bad it is to the point that 'professionals' are dismissive of patients concerns, experiences etc He's completely skipping over a step too, in which they use a device called a tenaculum. It's like forceps but it ends in sharp hooks, this pierces the cervix to hold it in place.
This has stood a challenging period, I respect you so much DoctorOrias you have put together a life that I thought was lost, thank you for curing my Infection ...
Okay Girls!!!! Alert‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ I have the at home remember for you! I’ve had three in my 40 years and just popped the 3rd one today! So after my second one I did a lot of research on this and stumbled on Prid! It can be found at Walmart, CVS, Amazon….small round orange jar. This works magic with in a day or 2 !!!! So first you want to run a hot bath and fill the tub about thigh level…hot as you can stand. Sit for about 5 minutes, about the Prid with fingers all over the bump, then get a wash cloth, boil water and pour it on to the cloth, shake it to cool down and then lay down and place the hot cloth over the bump. The bump will pop but note that you will have drainage so try to be home or wear a pad if you have to go out!!
I wish it was this quick!! Watching this made my uterus want to shrivel up and die though hahaha, I'll clench my teeth through the pain because they're so worth it!! I love my copper IUD!
Got mine done a day ago. Kept reading how painful it was so I planned to have it inserted on my period which makes things easier (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). I’ve been pregnant and pushed a kid out so it really didn’t even hurt. To be fair I was given a pain blocker.. the worst part was having the speculum open my vagina 😐. I consider myself very sensitive to pain but the insertion really wasn’t bad.
Nooooo, it’s too invasive! Don’t let them do this to you, get the Cytotec pills in your mouth and that’s it, after a few hours they will go with Pitocin, why the freaking torture? Advocate for yourself, don’t let residents be practicing. I’m telling you this because I had an induction last Wednesday and rejected this procedure. 🙅🏼♀️
Sigh. Birth control and bad mental health because of it for the rest of my life it is then and gosh forbid I am ever a few minutes off of the time I usually take it every day, because then here comes depression and s*icidal ideation, whoopee.
Dont use depo shot. Side effects are way too risky. Used it 25 years ago and released if your period stops its not beneficial to your hormones. Ended up with psychiatric issues once shot wore off. So many others have had emotional distress when using this birth control. Not a mild side effect.
