A channel that revolves around filming garbage trucks around the Sydney region particularly the northern councils. This was an interest in past years although has now faded away and now uploading left over footage for those who like the action! Videos will be uploaded every month or so although this is not always guaranteed depending on what's left in the upload queue.
With the way you blokes poorly lift bins manually, your not saving time and putting your body under more strain. Even if you lifted bins manually the correct way, your still only saving an hour or two.
I definitely agree with you but with the lay out of North Sydney and the trucks we have using the lifter slows things down heaps. Definitely better with the CS trucks but you still have to wait for packer cycles to finish before raising the lifter again. The 240s here are always light so no need to really use the lifter. But being job and finish no one wants to be there longer then they have to. Could you show me an example of how to properly lift bins? This is how I’ve been taught but keen to know if there’s a better way. However, having worked in the Inner West where the houses are closer together, and we have good trucks set up properly, it is definitely quicker to use the lifter.
@@willoughbygarbagefan Thank you for waiting. When manually lifting bins one lets the bin do the work. Light bins are a sort of a rolling-flick- pull-pivot-pause-drop and roll, using the wheels and handles to you advantage. Heavier but not lifter worthy are a sort of power lift, again using the axle and handle to your advantage. Let the bin do the work not you.
That's how good you are mate, over there at IWC they know you don't require runners, you're the only main man needed for both driving and loading! 😯 Tell me you didn't love working one out as well, it's a different kinda fun ey haha All so smooth until 4:58, that bin didn't wanna spin 😝 How about that squealing packer slide too, makes me cringe, a yucky sound...
Oh mate working one out is wicked. It took a street or two to get used to it but after that was smooth sailing 😎 It’s great when everything can be run at your pace and the way you want it, no one in your way. Yeh that one bloody bin ruined the flow! I should’ve cut that outta the clip lol, no one’s perfect though 😇 The packer squeal although a horrid sound, was a good indicator for me to hurry the f up, I always like having the truck revving or doing a function, can’t let it stop lol. A good lil game to play, speeds things up too! 😆
Top stuff mate. A man can dream about a properly setup truck without deadman buttons, slow Manco lifters and stupidly high hoppers to prevent manual handling 🥲 Add rear steps to that list too hahaha!
The absence of a dead man is brilliant, and the lack of bs sensors like on the SPAKs means you can run two functions at once. Mate if you got to use an Urbin you’d froth it. Bugger you guys miss out on runner steps too! I’m bloody lucky here :p
You love it don't ya mate!!! Pretty sure I saw Alex make an appearance a couple times at 3:33 and 12:33 haha All the momentum just died at 8:10 when the bin didn't empty fully and had to wait for the packer to cycle, no time for that shit on the rear loaders. I know the Wednesday run when I see it too =P Sweet perspective of the back here, you see everything better than the reverse camera -- be a cool view of the greens collections where there's heaps of old school manual bins and loose loading.
Was typically 2 half loads, which i should have specified in the description but more or less depending on the day. Although due to some major developments starting on our runs we’ve been able to fit it down to just 1 load of garbage most days. Greens is typically 2 full loads however. The tip for garbage/cleanup is about 15 mins away, greens 20 mins and recycle about 30 mins.
@@MegaDirtyHands yep basically haha but ever since Cleanaway took over from Suez you gotta wait anywhere from 10 to 30 mins just to tip. Always at full capacity too. Used to be just in and out with Suez, tip straight into the pit.
Awesome stuff mate so enjoyable to watch two blokes just so in sync doing rearloader. Mate you are a top runner would like to work with you for just a day I reckon it would be soo good to see how you guys do it and experience it. Like how there is still a few crates out there and old bins. Quality of the recycle is pretty decent too. Great uploaf mate.
Thanks mate!! Definitely a unique operation in North Sydney, would be very different to the rear lifts in Ryde. You’d defs have to come and experience it for yourself, even Mitch filled in last week and he loved it. Heaps of crates and old 55l garbage bins out there, lots of apartments still have them sitting on shelves in bin bays! Greens is all manual with bundles, crates and 55l bins too, absolutely love it :D
Nobody ever checked the green lid bins for me when I did this run, spent my half hour break strolling along checking inside each of them or fucked around tipping heaps of empty ones haha I thought well at least he'll do better than the Auburn greens video I took, then it got to 0:58 and I had doubts for a moment :P Those DAVs are the bomb in that council, get in/out of all those Friday lanes in one go... steering the rear loaders here on the other hand takes a lot more precision, not for the faint hearted =D
That Auburn video is a work of art :p I’ve watched the boys doing these laneways in the RL and yeh it’s tight getting in and out, nothing as bad as north sydney though :D I’m hoping i run into the boys again as these lane ways look like a lot of fun on an RL!
@@eremyjay Sorry lad... definitely not :P I still haven't even uploaded that video of your mishap on the Doyle Bros JP5, remember the first 3m at Akuna Bay? hahaha
Alex had been waiting his whole life to do 11:02 on camera haha Funny watching this video not long after it was uploaded and again now, there I was being all envious wishing it was me working on this truck... little did I know I'd do the recycle in these very laneways on this very truck less than two months later. Badass, I know right :P lol Today you're even doing it yourself, who'd have thought?! Glad I never had to worry about doing rear loader during the mask mandates too, fuck that shit :S
Oh mate. Filming this video I was thinking how sick it would be to work there, tipping bins in that laneway. Never saw it coming that i’d be working on this truck full time! Those masks would piss me off so much but atleast it was during the cooler months… fuck that in summer
This truck is mad, would be a sweet one to catch myself, but can't recall when I spotted it last... just did a rego check and it's still current, but guess we'll see if it renews next year. Sawa the green one almost daily in the Artarmon area, it's like that's almost the only suburb it actually services otherwise 95% of the work is in that location haha Seems like Carrylink have more work than you might imagine, I reckon a lot of their bins are hidden indoors which get done during the daytime. They have a few steel bins around the industrial area too... something I'd love to get either the Carrylink or Remove-it Garpacs tipping, hopefully one day.
This might have become the spare or something. The last time i saw it was on my first day at URM haha I always see that green one too, i’d love to tag along for the day now that you’ve mentioned the steel bins. Remove-It just got a new Garwood, not sure what’s happening to the old truck but hopefully it sticks around, these Garpacs are an iconic trio still kicking in Sydney!
Another top video from Mr NorthShore! I kinda rate the signage on this fleet, interesting how they are all the refuse bodies as well. How much longer to go in this contract? Can't be too much longer now surely. Slowly getting back into filming or was this kinda a one-off type thing?
Cheers Chazza. I think they’ve got just under a year left to go, can’t believe it’s already been 10+ years. I think they stuck with refuse bodies cause of height clearance. I finished work early so caught up with Jeremy and Sean just cause i felt like it haha. Doubt i’d film much more tbh although i’ve got some footage i got of myself i’ll send you :D
