There are no firearms featured on this channel.a firearm is something which discharges a shot or shell...nothing on this channel has that capability as they are all legally deactivated in accordance to various uk laws imposed at the time of deactivation..this is a "show and tell" channel for collector/historical/living history purposes ...I know what I've paid for items over the years but I dont give individual appraisals.
Definitely one to look out for 😊...'the lair of the fascist beast!'....strong propaganda, very powerful. Well explained m8, like the backdrop, is it a real one or a repro?, cheers CJ 😊😊😊😊
@@steelhelmetstan7305 the original flag was raised on the reichstag and is in the central museum, moscow ,its brought out for ww2 parades...this one is a e bay cheap but effective repro, cost a fiver new......if you search russian ww2 victory flag it will throw up various sellers...its a good display piece.....I bought it for a proposed 80th anniversary of berlin battle militaria video, which I'll be making soon, but wont be up till may 2025!!!
@@steelhelmetstan7305 yeo it would have to be framed...the russians had more paperwork flying around than the germans....so this one guy would have had this cert, the defeat of germany medal and its cert, and a record book of his campaigns and service
@@kingninewillnotreturnvilla2 traditionally, russia used the feminine motherland, but both Germany and russia have used both father and motherland to describe their countries,so it's not unusual to see both on a russian document
@@historicmilitaria1944 I know that the hook end unscrews the muzzle booster, but what does the crescent wrench on the other end do? Sorry, should have been more specific.
@@risaldar6925 mine is the version without the open end spanner to the other end..its possible the version with the open end spanner was a universal item for the mg 13,mg 15,mg34 series.....in the case of the double open end mg34 wrench it also fits the barrel nut of the mp40
Also it a bit like sometimes When I go to Chesterfield Antique Market on a Thursday - I have picked quite a good bits & pieces from there - Like a 2nd Hand Suspension Bridge for my Model Railway & a couple of old Railway Signs 😉🚂🚂🚂
@@Ground0-dn1cv and it's still going strong...the rarest part is the instruction sheet...some do turn up on e bay but the instructions are usually missing
@@Ground0-dn1cv very few orders were fulfilled as they were going into receivership, full set with binder and checklist now is very rare and retails at up to 250 quid....there are more complete loose card sets than in binders..a mint loose set of 100 cards can be had for about a tenner,
Good stuff CJ....I have confess I'm an ebay addict.....I'm always trawling through the crap , there's some stuff on there that's a joke😅😅😅....but other stuff 100% worth having a bid on....good display there m8.....I've got more ebay stuff heading my way as we speak....DDR jodhpurs £19....great for DDR or ww2 display ...as long as the corner where the mannequin stands in gloomy!!!😅😅😅, cheers m8😊😊😊
The old ddr trousers...or "freddie star pants" as we used to call them!! Good stand ins...e bay serves its purpose...tho I draw the line at 300 quid ww2 british mk2 helmets!!! Someones having a laff...
Excuse me, that is a PAK not a FLAK. 1rst Panzer Abwehr Kanone, 2nd Flugzeug Abwehr Kanone. Difference; PAK has solid steel point/warhead and a open cavity for tracer. FLAK has double detonators, Top detonator is aluminium, bottom is a long burn detonator that goes off when missing target and sets off at a traject of 5 kilometers ( high / wide) for safety
Not a fan of this helmet. Being painted inside is usually not good, and the liner looks suspect too. Possibly a woodchip camo if anything. Zimmerit required the paste to be heated after application, or it would take forever to dry.
@@Rob-wl7wc as mentioned in the vid, zimerit had benzene added to keep it in a malleable state, when applied the benzene evaporated and the substance solidified.
Most of what you said was right however once the pistol was attached to the pistol it was not looped again it was p Aced around the neck the upper slide knot was then placed so it rested just below the open V of the jacket but above the top button . Some like the MPs had a dog clip on a swivel on them so when they did not have there pistols on them like if they were handerling Prisones they could take off the pistol and hang there keys or clasp knife on it and place it in there top right pocket of there BDs or No2s the pistol was worn in a cross draw on the left for a righty positioned so when seated the barrel went to the outside of the left leg with the trigger guard positioned so it rested on top of the upper thigh .most were made out of canvas but some were made of brown leather cut in the same pattern as the canvas onee with a rounded barrel cover with a closed bucket end unlike the Officers pattern that was flat and had a wider longer in depth flap
Made me smile 😊, 'sneaking up on a german to stick a magnetic mine on his helmet'......good information m8, nice looking helmet and one you dont see often.....good stuff 😊😊😊
@@historicmilitaria1944 yes it did🙂 The best thing about when my parents bought mine for me was we were in woollies, and I asked my mum if I could have a FN rifle, she spanked me on my backside, not sure as to why I repeated my question, can I have a FN rifle, and received another spanking been told not to use that language again. At this point my dad came back and my mum told him about it explaining why she’d spanked. My dad then told her that’s what they were called and pointed to the rifle. I then got it at Christmas and much to mums dismay started shooting the baubles off the Christmas tree, as they were glass back then I broke several before being banned from shooting them. Happy days.
Thing is about paperwork like this is that it would 100% benefit from being framed, but then space is a consideration and that's always a problem for us collecting types....cheers CJ 😊😊😊😊
@@steelhelmetstan7305 true, they look better framed on view than in a file or box...I've been framing up my ww2 british campaign stars and a set of paperwork to an raf prisoner of war...currently sorting out my ww2 russian cabinet......the trials of life!!!!
CJ I was wondering if you might be able to help me identify an ancestor. I have a photo of him in British army uniform. I don't know the regiment and you can only slightly see the medals, but I was hoping you could help me to identify the cap badge and medals so I can try to research who he was further?
@@No-One-of-Consequence traditionally its worn over the right shoulder...tho some countries wear double straps in the manner of trouser braces, one over each shoulder
@@historicmilitaria1944 I was thinking about it after I wrote that, and I realized that the Sam Browne was designed to support the sword, not the pistol, so it makes sense that the strap goes over the right shoulder since the scabbard is slung fron the left side of the belt. (I'm making one for a vintage uniform, and I now understand what the shot is, and that helps a great deal. Thank you!)
Generally speaking vests play a limited role in the bush during wartime. One can see how perhaps a Medic in the ETO could benefit from cross loading triage supplies for quick deployment along with his training-specific triple pouch musette bags. The only application where vests seem to serve quite well is for downed pilots’ survival gear. Even here on youtube one gets the sense that after men devote significant time and resources to building the ultimate survival vest, they don it a few times and opt to continue using a haversack or Bergen. Unlike when posed perfectly on a dressmaker’s dummy when one wears a well loaded vest it just feels wrong. Especially if trying to wear web gear as well. A quick note re: downed pilots survival gear: Steve1989 has some of the best unpacking videos on youtube. From WW2 through Vietnam Era.
