@@MrSealion59 true. It's called the gumboot song and he was referencing New Zealander's tendency to wear gumboots i.e "if it weren't for your gumboots where would ya be? Etc etc". Scots do not use the word gumboots, but instead call them wellies aka Wellington's. Only Aussies and kiwis call em gumboots 😉
@@MrSealion59 here's where I think the confusion is: Fred Dagg aka John Clarke made this song by modifying Billy Connelly's "Welly Boot Song", which Connelly in turn made by modifying the old song, "The Work of the Weavers." Billy Connelly IS Scots (naughty comedian) and has sung a similar song, but he didn't use the moniker Fredd Dagg. That said, he did marry a kiwi so we've adopted him a little as well. Lol

Went to Scotland in 1984. Had a great time prowling around the country on the wonderful train system. Even sat and played cribbage on the train to Perth with a Falklands War veteran who had a steel plate in his skull. He won the damned game … Scottish super powers? Or steel plate could sense my cards? Regardless, when you live in Canada, Scotland in October is like summer! Great video, Danny!
