Well done. I'm American but lived in France for 10 years (and taught in public universities there). I currently teach in a public high school in NYC. I wanted to add something on the quality of education, which is difficult to gauge/determine, no doubt. But in general, the quality of education in France is higher than in the USA; it's more uniform and has a higher overall standard. That said, about 20%-30% of American high school students receive an excellent (public) education which is more rigorous (of better quality resulting in better learning outcomes) than that same group in France. US high schools, too, have, proportionally more immigrants than French schools, in some areas, far more.
When I was younger (a couple of decades ago, LOL), trendy cafés in Nancy were (in no specific order) : ➡ "Le Ch'timi" place Saint-Epvre ➡ "L'Académie (aka "L'Aca"), cours Lépold, ➡ "Le Garden", rue Raymond Poincaré ➡ "La Taverne de l'Irlandais", rue Mazagran ➡ "L'Embassy" rue Stanislas ➡ "Le Commerce", place Stanislas ➡ "Le Foy", place Stanislas ➡ "Le Jean Lamour" aka "Jean Lam' ", place Stanislas ➡ "L'Excelsior", rue Mazagran And some others I can't remember right now...
Hi Lyndi, I love your vlogs, as they are so chilled and also informative. Wandering around towns and places in your region is fascinating, as well as getting a sense of what your day to day life is like. I hope you are successful in achieving your French citizenship or whatever it is you're acquiring. I'm also curious to ask if the Quokka Cafe has an Australian connection, as the quokka is a marsupial that is unique to my part of the world, Western Australia. If not, they may have seen them on a visit as they are super cute ☺

You should mention that her childhood house is still there to visit (seen in one quick scene), and the little church (you visited) next door where she went to Mass! Also, nearby is the fountain that she talked about at her trial, which still flows with water!
Thank you so much, my friend, for this amazing video! The picture quality is outstanding, and the vibe is truly unique. Everything comes together perfectly. I wish you a fantastic weekend 🌍💜💜💜👍
Best birthday wishes sweet Lyndi. It looks like you had a wonderful, restful weekend full of lovely discoveries. Your travel videos are always filled with interesting content - you take us to regions off the beaten path which most tourists from outside France might not have heard of. The French Tourist Board should take note and reach out to you :) Love how calm and informed your content is. Enjoy the end of summer. As you head into a new school year we will be interested in seeing your everyday life as a teacher. A bientot.
Bonjour et joyeux anniversaire, Lyndi! My favourites are everything, as my husband and I often do roadtrips from the Netherlands into the backroads of France and enjoy the quieter regions. What you show here is picturesque and chockful of lovely historical buildings. Thank you for your interesting commenting about them as well.
