That was a great video, I really miss the 79xx and 8xx series, their engines are strong and natural, jealous I never took them often and pay attention to the unit I’ve took 😢😭🫶
Last year Mississauga retired all the 2005/2006 MiWay and the TTC closed down the Scarborough RT Line which opened in March 1985 while this year the TTC retired all the OG Diesels from 2006/2007 so the last OG Diesels from 2006 retired at the beginning of March of this year and the last OG Diesels from 2007 retired at the end of July of this year. As of right now, the buses from the 2000s that are left in service are the OG and NG Hybrids and the OG Hybrids are going to be retired as well at the end of this year. It is hard to believe that these buses used by MiWay and TTC have reached the end of their lifespan. These buses are only made to last for 17/18 years and then after they will have to go out of service and once they go out of service then the city will get newer ones. There used to be OG Diesels at the garage in Scarborough and Eglinton but from 2019 until now the Queensway was the only division that have the OG Diesels.

@@Kipling45 just 1 question: I'm going to North Queen Yard on Monday. There's this big space where the gate is. Are you allowed near there? I at least wanna get a good shot
@@Queensway8033 When I visit North Queen, I never go inside past the gate even when it's open, I take pics from the sidewalk. Some say they got permission to go in but I'm not 100% sure so I be safe & stay outside, on the sidewalk.
@@Queensway8033 They are quite some distance away. there 2 fences in the way between the sidewalk & the buses. I've never gone past the fences because there are signs that say, "No Trespassing".
@@EthanKizito-dj7ff according to @busfanforever, 5 units were supposed to retire this month, but more ended up retiring. They should last till the end of the year. We all thought the 7900s weren't gonna make it into 2024 but they ended up all being gone by March
The 79XX and the 80XX are my favorite OG Orion VII. That engine is obnoxiously loud but accelerated faster than the earlier VII version. I'll miss this bus. Gotta find another bus to stan for the next decade
