Valid! The people who are looking to buy a home for that price in Irvine are looking for something totally different than the buyers looking in Newport. You'll often find a totally unique pool of buyers for the coastal cities vs the cites like Irvine, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Etc.
Where is a public transit friendly place in Orange County. Due to the residual effects of a medical condition, I can no longer drive. I have lived in SD in the past. I want to try somewhere else different in Southern California this time around. Although I know LA is the best place for my situation, it is not my cup of tea. I currently live in Seattle.
That will totally depend on what you need to be near to. There is plenty of public transit available in parts of OC, but being close to the hubs is what you'll need to look for. Former resident who grew up in YL. It is great to see Eastlake Village again. As with all things, time and change make us strangers to our hometowns. I remember the McDonalds on Imperial Hwy had a hitching post because horseback customers were pretty common in the 80's and early 90s. I also remember when Nixon passed away and all the surviving presidents came to the Library. They used the football field at Esperanza as a helipad. The one constant is the traffic, especially through Weir Canyon.

No, just stop it... everyone is not moving to the Stepford Groupthink Zone, also known as Irvine - only groupthinkers are. Just roll through Irvine, get a "whiff" of things.... and then just remember you're in California - you'll more than likely just keep on rolling. There are nicer spots in Orange County, with less "control" than Irvine.
