As a Canadian of Scottish, Irish, Nordic (and even Cree ancestry), I can say that there's a really good chance that my ancestors back in the day honoured Odin and his kin. Indeed, I have met people out here who have honoured the Old Ones of the north for generations - if not more. It is so good to see the old ways coming back - with respect.
I wear mine as a protest against Christianity which came from an outside culture, Rome and the Mediterranean. Charlemagne slew Saxons who did not convert. People ask about it, when I tell them what it is they think I'm a comic book fan. Ignorant. Okay, I am a comic fan but still...
If your Nordic decentens like i am. Maby som Other Colorado.. Black. White. Yellow. Maie Color as the real indians. Love all Real American . Indians. 😢
Under Brehon Law, you could divorce your spouse for wearing clothing of the opposite sex, which was viewed as being gay. I'm inclined to believe it wasn't viewed favorably.
Vote for Ratatoskers role in all this tree metaphor. The Absalooke (Crow) tribe in Montana/Wyoming had sacred fasting sites-no food or water. Stories I heard say they cried out to any natural energy that could help them, no astral travel through. Earth realm energies.
Protection Runes are safe for the caster. (At least per my Swedish American relatives). And effective. Especially if your enemies see that horse head on a pole. 😮😂😂
My thoughts as far as the homosexuality goes: I say you're probably right with the Romans misinterpreting it. The Celt's have a long connection to the ancient Greeks and often on semi-friendly terms. Both the Greeks and Romans offered lands to the Celts (such as Galatia, as mentioned in the Christian Bible) to serve as a buffer zone, a promise from the Celts to not attack, and to assist in battle of needed. With that said, this exposure to Greek culture surely had some kind of impact on Celtic culture such as what was portrayed in the movie 300 when the Spartans were nude and putting olive oil on each other as a preparation for their Glorious Death. And remember, Rome and Greece wasn't exactly on best terms with the Celts. So times like the Celtic wars surely gossip would have ran rampid discrediting the enemies of the state. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it was non-existent, just that it was like today, a smaller minority of the population
So I’m getting a tattoo of Yggdrasil and I myself have Swedish German and Denmark descendent. All I’m having written are the nine realms so which Futhark should I use

Hvad er ligheden imellem Merkur Buddha og Odin Hvad er en folke ånd Hvad er forskellen på lavere og højre astralt Hvad har Jesus at gøre med bronze alder i Jylland Er myter spirituelle overleveringer Ram
I literally just found out I (so far) go back to Asgard 30 BC. I recognize a lot of these names! So far I am related to a lot of legendary people! So absolutely cool! Thank you for this awesome video!
The story of Svolder has more to it, the Christianity conversion by force was true, but its not the whole reason Scandinavia united. Denmark objected Norway becomming so powerful under olav Tryggvason so they created an alliance with the pagans
Hi, I just found your channel. Learning a lot. TAK. Hope all is well with you. I have a question. In the Gospel of St. Thomas it reads: "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you." I wonder if there is a correlation to Viking myths and teachings? Also, in other vids you mention 8 parts to the soul?! Could this verse be referencing one (or more) of these parts, like the Fylgia, Hamingja, beserker...? Finally, does this make any sense to you? I mean, if you bring it out it will SAVE you. But if you don't, it will DESTROY you? What is this 'thing'? What would it save us from? And how do you bring iti out? Stay well friend. TAK
I like to at Saxons weren't only in Germany and England. Also in Netherlands regions now called Twente, Salland and Achterhoek are Saxon regions the people there still can speak a language called Nedersaksisch or Nedersachsen. And Drenthe is a Saxon province. Greetings from Twente everyone
On the one hand Scandinavian culture is branded as toxically masculine. On the other hand we're supposed to believe that a Scandinavian king was a black woman.
