I'm 73 and I am the last man standing in my family. I understand the loss, yet I still live with hope and intent. Nevertheless, Floor's voice and this composition is akin to an emotional depth charge to the heart. I have neither heard nor seen Floor so tender and vulnerable. And her face, good Lord, her beautiful face so expressive and adorned with nothing save her heart and soul just melts me to my core. I'm not ashamed to say that it makes me want to sob on her shoulder. She would understand, I think. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I do, and that's all that matters. Kiitos to all of you in Nightwish for delivering such epic and emotional story telling.
When Ak says "make room for clara's bare feet", i used to imaginate that that huge dog makin' room for a children in the couch, that's touch me in a emotional level
This performance is from the TV-show 'VAIN ELÄMÄÄ (IT'S ONLY LIFE). A bunch of Finnish musicians/vocalists spending two weeks together talking about life, childhood, including painful memories, and their careers and performing cover versions of each others songs, often very different from the original. Marko said he spent lots of time translating the song Voodoo, originally performed in Finnish. Everyone thought he had written English lyrics for the song, but he 'translated' it into Savo dialect, propably the funniest sounding dialect in Finland. He is from Savo region. He had a special attire for the performance. Here's the link for the video on "Farr0" channel: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVOh2iVJ9aQ.html Marko has sung two songs before Voodoo. RASKAS ROCK (Heavy Rock), and POHJA (Bottom). The old song "Raskas Rock", originally by a punk band, ridicules heavy rock bands - so of course Marko chose this song - guitar solos last 15 minutes, equipment cost millions, breaking 3 guitars a day, people think we can play, but we are just fooling them to believe that... Videos for these 2 performances by Marko also on "Farr0" channel.
Marko just having some fun i guess..lol, it was fun to listen to, and i admire Marko for just putting out what he like, and have some fun with it, but will i re listen it.. naaah, well maybe someday.. lol
I am going to buy kleenex shares on the stock market. So many tissues are being used these days. Indeed this is about the most beautiful and emotional song ever, and I mean ever, produced. Literally everyone is remembering their lost ones when listening to this diamond. Tuomas, Troy and Floor did it again.
I think people are hating them because they are not getting same feeling when she sings in the end and numb but no body can give you same taste if it was not emily or someone else i see that they will play only songs recorded with emily and old songs will fizzle out from setlist and these guys have mourned for last 7 years none of any other bands who have lost their singers take such longtime to move ahead i don't care whether thry should play old songs or not i am all for new music
When you continue with EC, I would go on with Mindreader, MC Thunder 2, Parasite, Hurrikan, Cover of Everytime we touch / Tekkno Version. Perhaps in that Order. We will be with you. 😊
In this song Kalle Is only lip singing. But they did a song "Castrop X Spandau" together in just one day (and another day for shooting the video) where he actually sings.
James Shearman was the brains along with Tuomas who made these orchestrations and choirs come to life.. in the past albums Pip Willliams was lead in the orchestra work and then James joined him to help but now Pip is too poorly to take charge so James became lead orchestration manager on this album.. he says he decided with Tuomas to take a more modern orchestra sound with this album than on the previous ones and you can really hear it but it still sounds like the Nightwish we love. He uses the UK Sepian orchestra and some of the players have been in all the Nightwish albums since Once and requested to play in this album which I think is cool.
Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad I guess.
Gone is the hurt, the wait Gone is the warmth of day A stray boat saved Happy memories engraved On into a velvety night Beneath a lantern light Last night brought the heaviest of snows Melting the songs of old Tying the boat, write a new one soon Sending me to the drowning moon Far above a lantern light I'm in the light and flood I'm in the four winds I'm the waves, shaping pebbles, flawless gems I am the snow on your palm I am the secret stream Moss beneath your feet I am you who climbed off my back Not long ago A sheltered song In a world now gone Petrichor (= odour of rain on dry soil) The timeless Turn loose, the swaying boat Meltwater, sound of spring I hear our song now, sung by the free For a thousand more tomorrows Of an incomplete weave To the meadows, I go I'll be waiting for you Once upon a lantern light I walk now toward the trees I am the secret stream The night falling at my feet Into the forest of Yesterwynde
