Founded in 1963, the spectacular Valley of the Temples Memorial Park offers cemetery, funeral and onsite cremation services to the Oahu community. It boasts 240-acres that attracts thousands of visitors each year with its Zen garden, wild peacocks, meditation pavilion, and Shinji-ike reflection pond teaming with Japanese koi carp. Valley of the Temples is also home to the magnificent Byodo-In Temple, a cultural landmark that symbolizes Hawaii’s rich heritage and historical connection with Japan.
My father was a WW2 vet and a Korea vet. He killed himself in 2000 and his death hurt. I selfishly decided not to have a funeral for him and now I live with having denied him that last bugle call of taps and that folded flag. Forgive me, dad...you deserved that last honor.
America is the greatest nation on earth where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and our civil society can flourish. We owe a gratitude of thanks to the brave men, women and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Teach you children well.
