I used the highest strength lidocaine toothache reliever to do my severely curled toenail. It's the bleeding that needs to be stopped with a compress is what I hate more than the initial pain. Then I use an antiseptic like bactine in some, fill a container, add it in and make a hot as I can stand it footbath to soak the toe, dry with a clean fresh towel, apply fucidic acid antibiotic 😢ointment & more lidocaine gel then bandage overnight, repeat process with a loose guaze instead of a guaze pad to it dry a bit. If it gets infected after the home procedure, you need to go into the dr's office to get the appropriate oral antibiotics & let them check it out so keep it clean daily & change your guaze frequently throughout the day.
Yo this is sick had no clue South Africa had short track racing. Watching from Indiana, USA we have so many short tracks around the state you can pretty much find a race every weekend during the summer
Doing it yourself is the way to go. The shot the doc gives you is way worse than removing the ingrown in my opinion. Id recommend removing the root though so it doesnt grow back jagged. Snip snip snip then tug.
You can always start doing this and then get you some 15% lidocaine which is in orajel it'll numb that thing right up once you expose some of the soft tissue under the nail
