Man I remember watching this more than once being so hyped for Inquisition! With Dragon Age The Veilguard gameplay coming out this coming Tuesday(Saturday of June 8th 2024 of writing this) I can't wait to rewatch that 100 times as well!!😁
Imagine if this would've been what we actually got instead of what was released instead. Imagine if it actually would've held up to what had been promised, if feet wouldn't have glitched into the floor in cutscenes as well as during game play, imagine if it would've been as immersive as it seems here, imagine if the moments of attack would have stayed like that and if it really had been this interactive. What a shame that this all was well. Mostly just a glorified lie
I got inquisition for the first time on a steam sale the other day and I am so disappointed in it. It is nothing like the live demo I saw as a kid on youtube back in 2014. So I searched for the video wondering maybe I just had remembered it being more spectacular than it really was. But the video is nowhere to be found on youtube. There are some developer gameplay videos from 2015-2016, but they more resemble the finished game since it had already been released over a year at that point. I watch this video and what do you know? Its the exact same live demo event I watched as a kid, except for the technical difficulties in the beginning, but I watched that video on a game publishes channel. Something like gamespot or ign. My thoughts are the original gameplay reveal for dragon age inquisition was taken down as it reveals how much the game was stripped away of a lot of guarantees they made leading up to the launch. Making promises along the development cycle is one thing, but showing these promises already implemented into the game and treating them as core elements so late in development is pretty infuriating when those guarantees are almost completely omitted in the finished product. Dragon Age Inquisition in this video and the DA Inquisition you can buy in stores are not the same game. The finished product is a bastardized version of this and I'm not surprised they've taken it down as it could be used to paint an unsavory picture of bioware. My hunch is they're probably working on another dragon age and want to minimize controversy where they can. Considering how much bioware irreversibly damaged their public image with mass effect andromeda they should think twice about their PR. You can like Inquisition as much you want, but lets be honest its not what was advertised. Edit: Just wanted to add, thank you for posting this video. I would have drove myself insane wondering if there ever was a live gameplay demo.
Alright, I just 1001% this damn medieval torture device (full story, every gear from raids, etc.). My mind is broken, my soul forever scarred. HOWEVER! For anyone looking to finish DA:L with the least possible hassle (which is: A FUCKIN LOT), here's my build and strategy. Expect 1-wave 1-shots from early game to around the very last map. Raids should take between 1 and 3min to complete, but the spider one... oh god we don't talk about the spider one. - I went with mage. Stats-wise, the build is simple: EVERY SINGLE POINT into ATK (you'll reach and exceed 500ATK by the end). Regarding your gear, prioritize ATK, then AGL, then LCK. You'll want the highest possible damage and turn numbers. - For secondary effects on gear, always try to reach -100% chance to Miss, then maximize +% CRIT, and fill the rest with +% Dodge. - For potions: Concentration, Luck, Resistance, Life Ward and Revitalize. The first two are complementary to your stats, Res is good to avoid being one shot in the endgame, Ward is ALWAYS ON against enemies with non-magical CC skills (pommel strike, confuse, shield bash, supressing fire, pinning shot?, harsh language, etc.), last thing you want is to get stuck in a death spiral, and Revitalize will sustain your mana-devouring unending spell orbital bombardment. - For bombs: Acid, Frost Torrent, Dispel, Poison Cloud, Flame Wave. The first will help you melt any enemy with high DEF (vital in late game), Frost can buy you several turns when needed, Dispel is a godsend if you let foes buff themselves with +attack/immunities/regen/etc., Poison can speed up protracted fights by several turns and finish off low-hp enemies while your take on full-hp ones, Flame is mainly good to sap enemy mana, it hits everyone too, pretty useful! - Don't forget to ALWAYS buy Longstaff's Ultimate Elixir to get that +300%XP bonus on! Now, to the skills! You should get to around lvl60 by the end of the adventure, but if you're above that and have some pts left I'd advise maxing Lightning or one of your defense passives. Skills with only 1 point either are only used to unlock higher-tier ones, defense passives, or good enough as is. Every offense passive is maxed. Most of the activated buffs have enough pts to last 10 turns, which I feel is the tipping point between "barely enough" and "just a waste". - PRIMAL > Arcane Bolt 10, Rock Armor 5, Flaming Weapons 7, Lightning 1, Storm 10 - CREATION > Heal 1, Magic Shield 1, Haste 1, Staff Mastery 10 - ARCANE > Barrier 1, Vulnerability Hex 1 - SPIRIT > Arcane Shield 1, Heroism 5 - ELEMENTAL > Elemental Mastery 10, Petrification 1 Your battle setup will follow some simple rules. First: ALWAY GO IN SOLO. No squadmates, they'll only slow you down, eat your buffs' turns and do no damage. Sole exception is a fully upgraded fire drake in the early game, but drop him as soon as possible. - Your left skill wheel (defensive): Flaming Weapons, Heroism, Rock Armor, Haste, Magic Shield. Right wheel (offensive): Arcane Bolt, Lightning, Storm, Vulnerability Hex, Petrify. - Whenever your enter combat, ALWAYS keep your two offensive buffs on (Flam+Hero). Haste if you think you won't one shot each wave. MagShield against casters (mages, demons, dragons, etc.) and RockArm against heavy-hitting foes. Depending on your amount of mana left, drink a RevitPotion. You should keep at least 2 mana against 4+ foes to cast Storm, or 1 against 3- to cast Lightning. However, if you're pit against enemies with non-magic CC capabilities, drink a LifeWardPotion. Your buffs pretty much make you immune to most damage, but when they're gone, you're gone. ArcaneBolt is your elite/boss-nuker, plain and simple. - Concerning debuffs, VulnHex is only useful against enemies with specific RES (to melee/range/magic), however it does not end your turn! Combined with an AcidBomb and/or Petrify, you can melt any tanky meatbag in a blink (Petrify does end your turn though, so use with care, best in 1v1). A thing of note: AcidBomb's -50%DEF and Petrify's -25%DEF do stack for a monstrous -75%DEF, contrary to most debuffs affecting one stat. Deadly against bosses. To give you and idea of how busted to hell and back this build gets, here's a look at your stats in combat at lvl60: 515 ATK 82 DEF 92 AGL 68 LCK -100% chance to Miss 113% RES to all dmg types 89% Dodge chance (could reach 100% but it's overkill) Immunity to every spell Immunity to every adverse effect +400% CRIT (that's x5 chance to crit on ALL ATTACKS, x5.9 on Storm) Follow all that and you should roll on everything in a matter of... months. What am I doing with my life.
This game is nothing like what we actually got mainly because of EA: since they wanted the game to be released on both generations of consoles at the time (PS3/XBOX360/PS4/XBOX1) many of these elements couldn't be brought to all of them, thus having a game that had to be rushed and complete
4:45 one thing he wants to make clear is that Inquisiton doesn't level its enemies to match yours... I'm sure it does though from what I remember of playing it...
Read or listen the the book “Blood, Sweat, and Pixles. There is a chapter dedicated to the creation of DA:I, and once you do you’ll understand why the game is different from this video.
This. Fans need to keep this in mind when holding BioWare accountable for Dragon Age 4. This is more relevant now than ever with the development of Inquisition's sequel and with worries over Andromeda and Anthem's failures.
ok i have to ask, probably no one will awser but still i have to ask something that has been bothering me. The inquisitor´s voice in this gameplay, is it one of the voices we got in the final game or is it another voice actor here that later Bioware replaced?
