@MeasureSchool Hey julian, thanks a lot for the detailed video. This explains quite a few of my questions. However, I was still not able to complete the process since I was not able to see any event variable for the consent update. Could you advice what is to be done in that case? I'm using the free version of OneTrust rather than CookieBot.
I use google ads, but ALL I do is advertise/remarket to people who've watched my videos, and then when they click the link, they go to my youtube page. So does this apply to me? This notification popped up on google ads and I'm not sure if there's anything I need to do or not. I don't use the google tag or analytics or any of that on my actual web site. The only way people would go to my web site itself is if they do so voluntarily.
I’m not trying to be rude or anything. I don’t really know my way around gtm. Triggers and variables. So I’ve done as in your tutorial. The cookie banner / consent model works. But is not showing conversion in google ads account anymore. 👎
is there also a way to do this without using javascript? most of users come from another page and then go to the form page and submit the form. I need the search term and which ad triggered the user to come on the website.
yes, great. but how to get the keywords or search terms that people searched for before they submit any form. can this be achieved with the tutorial? any tips?
I have recently implemented something similar for a client. I've pointed out my objections. I'm aiming to do these implementations less often over time. I think it is important as well to go over the ethics of enhanced conversions... What you are basically doing is giving data that customers trust you with, to google. Even when they don't accept cookies. So customers who think they aren't measured because they decline cookies, get their email address shared with Google. I think this is a whole order of magnitude different from anonymously collection browser data that is present in the browser. It's a very shady way of doing business and dishonest to your customers. Especially when you dont disclose this. For me personally it is one of the (many) reasons why I'm moving more and more away from Google. With my own business and with my private life. Saying the data is send in a hashed form doesn't matter. Of course google can unhash this data at some point. If not now already, then in the future. Its something they hide behind instead of naming in their terms that the data isn't used for anything else except creating anonymous profiles. For the rest a nice and clear video. Thank you very much!
Julian great work, I am a big fan of your content. If I may, can I ask you a question?: If I use the custom tracking code you shared on the video and I also use the "integrate with google analytics" option with the GA4 measurement ID, would it generate any conflict? or at the contrary enhance the tracking? I am having some serious over reporting issues and I want to know if the reason is using both methods. Thanks!
Or you can have both server-side with Zaras and client-side with GTM or FB Pixel cookie incase it gets blocked by AD blocker or if it fails you can enhance data accurace with both just make sure test so you don't have double data flow..
Thank you for an excellent video!!!!! This solved my problem of tracking clicks inside of a calendar in gohighlevel. I know see the click in my analytics debug! How can I create an event for this to send to G ads? I created a new event with parameter "click_text" = "Schedule Your Free Quote" (my button text) and parameter page_location = my "exact url". Any idea what I am missing to create this event/key event? Regardless this video is fantastic!!!! Thank you!
Can you track more than one phone number on a webpage with a call tracking tag for built for each in GTM? How can I test to ensure each tag is firing properly when different a number is clicked on? Thanks!
