I love this movie, but to portray the CIA as interested in doing "what's right" is just laughable. Not only would they gleefully go along with this hoax, they'd be the very ones running it and funding it.
Louis Zamperini came to one of our SR patriotic luncheons. He said when he went back to Japan an official asked him if anything positive had come out of being a prisoner of the Japanese. He then told us "I don't know why I said it but I replied IT PREPARED ME FOR (?) YEARS OF MARRIAGE!" to which that person burst out laughing! He then inferred what he meant was it had taught him when to keep his mouth shut! I still have his autographed book Devil At My Heels.

Thank you so much for this. I'm 68 and had never heard of this story until about three years ago. I read the book written by Laura Hillenbrand and then only a couple of months ago, I watched the 2014 movie. The thread runs real deep in both the book AND the movie that faith in God really CAN move mountains. In Zamps case, the mountain was his hatred toward The Bird. I find it remarkable that he lived to the ripe old age of plus 97 years old. AND, I find it remarkable that the Japanese people look so favourably toward Louis. There really IS a God in Heaven who wants the best for mankind!!!!! Thank you Paul for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. The MIC is a Communist jobs program. There is no war, has been no war since WWII, and will never be another war. Everything after WWII has been an Imperialist invasion. The US is more Communist than Russia and spends 10x as much on defense each year. Even women are now cashing in on this cash cow, especially with VA “disability” pensions in their twenties. Parents who do not steer their kids into the military are doing their kids a disservice. Uncle Sam will wipe their asses real good for life.
This was probably built just before the burst of the housing bubble when either developers were about to go belly-up, or were involved in bank fraud, which in the waning days of the housing boom, and all the instant approvals and "robo-signing", was found to be an easy crime to get away with...
Louis Zamperini. A true hero. R. I. P. Louis. His story of surviving 47 days out at sea was truly trying to these guys. I salute this man for being courageous, and keeping his sanity in that tumultuous situation.
I can't believe this is happened in Brentwood. As I drive past Brentwood I wish my house was located there instead of having to drive another hour. If they could have only sold those to be less than a house in San Jose -- a lot of people could live closer than the central valley.
