Think Rev. James Hanna may hav lived in the castle at one stage. Arch Deacon of County Down. Buried in Down Patrick Cathedral. Would love to tour this auld place. Thanks for the video. Cheers. Steve
I remember as a child with some going to the Island and opening the doors of one of the vaulted graves, and there were still bones inside..we gasped in exclamation and ran!!!🙀🙀🙀Years later also got honey from a man just up that lane a bit.
Imagine being someone who'd NEVER seen Ireland before, much less St. Patrick's statue.. ST Patrick's CONTEXT is in & WITHIN the LANDSCAPE .. Here it LOSES it's CONTEXT & CONNECTION.. . TOO MUCH SWIRLING AROUND ST.PATRICK'S HEAD MADE ME DIZZY.. Would have been SO MUCH BETTER for the CAMERA to have LOOKED UP and AROUND & FOCUSED on TAKING in & INCLUDING the SURROUNDING LANDSCAPE .. ST PATRICK'S CONTEXT is in & WITHIN this LANDSCAPE ..
I think this is the Ancestral home of the rigdamani named MacDuiinsliehbi of the DalFiatach. This family ruled Uladia for the last 600 years before the Normans invaded! They were a Irish medical family. This would have been lake fortress/home to hundreds of people a very large family of great wealth . A garden paradise of highest nobility designed to serve a very learned Tuatha
Hi, this video is amazing! I would love to use some clips in a program I am working on. I know I can’t post an email address on here, do you have another way I can contact you about this? Ruth
Family holidays in the 60's , Girvan every year for 2 weeks and dad always took us for a WEE stroll up the Byne hill, went to an army display one year and an olde English sheepdog(Pure White) picked up an red army smoke grenade and for ever after was a shocking pink Sheepdog , this video brings back many very happy memories of my childhood and I'm 65 now , thanks
Would it be possible to get a copy of this footage to use in a charity music single to raise funds for the ship? If this is something you would be interested in, could you send me an email at callumedwardsmusic@gmail.com? Cheers!
@Craig Murphy you are correct I’m the problem the people of Girvan seem to think that suffering from health problems and disability is something to be ridiculed and a reason to mistreat people. I have only been in Girvan a little over 2 years and in my past I have lived in some pretty dodgy areas but never has it it been this bad
What was his name? I am part of the Headstone community "Find a grave . com " if you would like i could go to downpatrick , find and photograph the headstone and grave for you? Regards. Christopher.
@@SirMrShanks William John Seay. There is a World War I plaque with his name on it plus his grave. My Grandfather was a police officer in the area and other parts of Northern Ireland. My Mom was Caroline Beatrice Seay “Bea” to the family and some called her “Carol”. Mom was a Warbride. My mother said that you enter the cemetery and go towards the right. He is buried with my Great Grandparents. This is so nice of you. Hoping to visit when Covid is over. Thank you so much for doing this for me and others that you have helped. Ann C Lanham
