@@MadBeatzPhilly yeah it’s cool that your teaching them it, when I went from bass to snare my sophomore year I had to learn traditional w no help, I eventually got better w it than match grip..
@@retro_tcb we're so sorry you had no help learning it, it's a complex technique that requires great attention to detail at first. Learning to use the thumb as a fulcrum, adding wrist/forearm rotation, then elbow support, and finally finger response is a multi-step process that can really help the student achieve excellence right away if done correctly.
Congratulations to kids, emerging teachers, and mentor teachers!! These camps at GLA and Arts & Sciences were a huge success. Ok, I was so into watching what y’all were playing that I didn’t realize the snare was supported by the harness. I got a little confused the second time I was watching the video trying to understand how the snare was floating. Yeah, I’m a bit tired
