Finn Lloyd and James Millar have been on every side of the camera and every side of the bike for the last 10 years (including face down in the dirt, many times). We have new videos every week! Building new backyard tracks, discussing bike tech and exploring the trails New Zealand has on offer! Get watching!
Great video I’m looking at these Norco bikes I live on the east coast US . But get to some down hill stuff not sure the travel will be enough. I’m 215 lbs that doesn’t help yeah I know stay on the diet.
I have the A4, lowest spec. I'm 6'4" with a long reach so the XXL frame is one of the first bikes that feels like it actually fits. I had to replace the stock bear pawls brand hub twice. First time under warranty, second time I realized it was a crap hub and put on a DT Swiss 350 per the recommendation of an enduro rider. It's been a solid bike, but I look forward to upgrading to fox suspension when I'm ready to spend that much.
Sick video Mate! Just subscribed! I’ll come to Leogang in September for my vacation, this video just gives me the right perspective to ride this gnarly Track! Cheers from Italy! 🙌🍻
Hey boys! I’m right behind you with a whopping 30 subscribers and trying to start making some high-quality Mountain Bike videos on the local trails. Just picked myself up a GH six and terrified to make the wrong decision on the lens. Open not to break the bank, but looking for something on the trail and, then by chance all around photography and video? I don’t know maybe asking too much. I’m new.
Hey mate! Welcome to the filmers club aye! Lenses are always a bit tricky, theres never one that seems to do everything you need. Check out the Olympus 12-40 F2.8. That would be a really nice all rounder. Hope that helps!
got this bike 2 years ago (with 27.5 wheels), and I've been looking for an excuse to change it (mainly because of the paintjob - I find it a bit boring, but it was either raw metal or that weird looking red/orange one) but I just can't find a reason to do it! Yeah, the MTB prices have been falling at Canyon, but the new ones still don't come close to the 2022-23 models. It is light, it's agile, it has great components, front and rear have a longer travel than the old and new ones, and the most important thing; it has never let me down. The Spectral 6 by far one of the best bike purchases I have ever made, and I don't see me changing it anytime soon
Cheers mate, was a mix between Blackmagic Pocket 4k and a Fuji XT3. Wide lens is a Laowa 7.5mm, mid lens is a Voigtlander 17.5mm and the telephoto is a Panasonic 35-100mm
The Lyrik Select+ in my opinion doesnt feel basically any different from the ultimate version, the only differences are that the ultimate has longer bushings and the buttercups
I have the Norco Fluid A2, 2023. Zero complaints about the Bike, I have thrown it at everything, I live in Quebec the terrain is extremely rocky and this bike takes a beating and keeps going. I do think it could go with a few modifications, but keeping the bike stock is just fine. Overall a good price for what you get.
Where are you boys based, environment is kind of throwing me off. Based on your accent and background I’d guess NZ because def not Aussie. Also what camera setup you got going on at 2:22, very crisp!
Ordered a Spectral 29 AL 6 2024. Slight changes there. Thanks for the review. It's tough to find an honest nonaffiliated review of a human priced bike, not the 6-10k euro carbon xxx model. Best of luck to you mate.
Im high end slash owner. But imo the new frame was ugly af and high pivot makes it even worse. I always thought Trek bikes have great looks. But this one was abomination.
If they set it up to be highly adjustable, I would have bought it. It wasn't enough on the enduro side like the Specialized Stumpjumper Evo. It's a great bike to ride, but I added a WRP yoke, and a Cascade link to my mixed wheel Evo, and it handles enduro just fine, and rides and pedals awesome on the trail.
I own the previous switchblade and do primarily normal trail riding like most do, which is lots of uphill as well. I run my bike in the high setting still with 29er wheels, and for me that's a much better setup for 98% of my ridetime. I have yet to have any weird over the bar moments while going down so for me this is so much better. That 0.5 degree lift does wonders while climbing as well as a lot less pedal/crank strikes. I have several techy uphill sections where I usually ride and these are just pain in the low setting. Just because the flip chip is marketed as you're supposed to put it in the high setting if you go mullet, doesn't mean that you cannot experiment on your own. I recommend at least to try flipping it with no wheel change, and maybe it could be something for others as well. I say maybe, because we all ride different places, have different skill levels, ridestyle etc. I just haven't seen/heard anybody else trying to flip it whith no wheel change and I recommend at least trying it once.
That’s definitely a good call! If you know what you like geo wise then definitely worth swapping it around. As always there’s pros and cons to each, we prefer a little bit slacker, growing up riding DH bikes is probably why. But this thing definitely proves slacker and longer isn’t always better. Thanks for your comment!
@@BlueSkyBoys Sweet. I'll be in Rotorua for a month in a couple weeks (currently in Queenstown), I'll have to check it out... unless Rotorua just consumes me haha
Sorry I wasn't able to show you guys around. Somewhat relieved as I worry you would have convinced me to do all of Pretty fly. My plan is to add one jump a year and complete it for my 60th.
No worries mate! Enjoy the South Island! I’m sure you would be sweet on the rest of it. The last two on the first straight are pretty similar in size to the last straight . You’ll get it!
I don’t think it would need it to be honest! The chain-stay feels so short anyway it doesn’t really handle like a 29r. Would be an interesting experiment though…
The ride was probably only 5 hours or so. Not noticeably hard to pedal but once the drivetrain gets a bit of dirt in it, that might change. There are probably better bikes for really long rides though!
Yooo sick vid BSB!! Awesome to see you guys up here. And such a great call bypassing the DH jumps at the end when you know your a bit gassed and the adrenaline has dissipated. Great work sending Pretty Fly. 🤘 Chur!
