Add a little dog that keeps following you and eventually loves you so much that it ends up pushing you into enemies, and if you don’t want to die every few seconds you have to murder it like the cold hearted killer you are.
Make a giant dragon that makes you think they’re a friend then betrays you at the end but make them a dumb dragon with eyes that go different directions
Make a curse that give the player a second head that is evil. The head would insult you from time to time, would make the player walk away from the goal if he is afk and the headcwould fight back the controls of the player.
What if you had to recruit the enemy chess pieces for them to later betray and checkmate their own king to win? Maybe not win finally but win some cool stuff?
