Hi Mohamad. I just got one of these yesterday and I've run into a problem. First, the adapter with the lead was in so tight that it was a struggle for my husband to get it out without using a tiny screwdriver to push it out of the slot. He did get it out eventually but now we can't get the pencil adapter to stay in no matter how tight the screw is. As soon as I insert a pencil, and try to draw, the adapter falls out. Is there something that we're doing wrong? I should add that the metal post on the lead adapter is quite a bit larger in diameter than the plastic post on the pencil adapter. That is why the pencil adapter falls out. I'm afraid to try and widen the slot in the pencil adapter post to make it fit more snugly for fear that the plastic post would break.
Dear @lindagenaw4619, Are you talking about the Staedtler compass, if so you should return it to the seller? It looks like you received a faulty product. There is no point in trying to fix it. just get your money back or ask for a replacement.
Yes, I have the same one that you are using in the video. The strange thing is that it doesn't appear to be obviously deformed or defective. I will contact Staedtler about the problem. Thank you for replying.
@@BawabatAlkhatAlarabi I have an update on my Staedtler compass. I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement. It turns out that the compass itself was defective rather than the pencil adapter as I thought. The legs on the replacement compass are quite a bit thinner than the legs on the bad one. I can even use the pencil adapter from the bad one in the new compass and it stays put. There are several other subtle differences between the bad compass and the replacement one. For example, the tip of the needle is much sharper on the new compass. The one on the bad compass was kind of blunt. The new compass did come with a spare needle that is blunt like the other one though.

Thank you for your clear videos explaining what is wrong with the way these patterns are usually demonstrated, and sharing the basics of how to construct them correctly. 11 years ago, someone wanted to commission me to do this kind of decoration in a Turkish restaurant, but even after buying some books and doing some research, I eventually declined. Partly because it was a style I was unfamiliar with and therefore not an expression of my own artistic sensibilities, and also because I wouldn't be sure I did it the correct way according to the aesthetic principles of Divine Geometry and its cultural significance. I have decided to work more with patterns again, and so I came across some of the sketches and notes I made back then, as well as looking up the books I have on the subject, but when I compare them to what you show, it looks like all my sources are actually constructing the patterns in the wrong way, presumably - as you point out - by using a grid rather than correctly proportioned construction points. I'll be looking forward to trying to construct the basic four-fold and six-fold symmetries using the correct method this time, bearing in mind the important principles of symmetry and proportion.
Dear Hakon Soreide, Thank you very much, you can join my Facebook group. You will find much more patterns and information. facebook.com/groups/zakhrafa.school/

@@BawabatAlkhatAlarabi too small to tesselate. I have done a lot of work from you and your students videos but more complex designs can be appreciated properly only on larger paper, its my personal opinion. And Sir if you can please write a book or suggest one that would be great for everyone as only western or rich people can afford your courses, also my opinion
