First- that is correct- at the lowest level, you are receiving negative ions and gentle far infrared rays that are naturally emitted by the crystals in the Biomat. I found this distinction helpful: Infrared is a form of energy forming part of the electromagnetic spectrum after the colour red. Great question! There are two small speakers by the top of the BioAcoustic Mat, and a large one in the middle. You feel the vibrations most intensely in the lower back, and the vibrations spread throughout the BioAcoustic Mat.

Gail, the window on the top of the Biomat is the weak spot, mine did break after 12 years, so I think it's fair to expect some wear and tear on a product after 12 years of use. You can wipe the window with a damp cloth weekly to help the integrity of the window. And you can also use the Germanium Power Pad with the Biomat to protect it from sweat and also maintain the window. The tricky part is, there is a window, so you can see that there are really crystals in the ridges. Then if there isn't a window people will say- well, how do I know there are really crystals in there.

Gail, I haven't experienced a BEMER pad before. I did a quick search and saw that it's a PEMF pad. I did a video comparing the Biomat with the iMRS pad, which also uses PEMF technology, and has different "programs" to run. I would suggest taking a look at that. Essentially, the Biomat and the BEMER mat are two different technologies, so it's comparing apples to oranges. The Biomat has been approved by the FDA to help with temporary pain relief, improve circulation (where applied), provide relief from stiffness due to arthritis, but there have not been any clinical studies with neuropathy specifically.

Hi David, I'm not a licensed health care practitioner, and I don't know your health history, so I can't recommend the best setting for you. Personally, before I get ready for bed, I will turn on the Professional Biomat to the lowest setting of 95F and the timer on for 2 hours. Then it's nice and warm when I get under the covers, and turns off after the 2 hour window. This prevents me from getting overheated during the night. In the summer time when it's warm, I don't turn the heat on my Biomat.

Catherine, my cats have loved the Biomat. And I've heard amazing stories from other clients about how their pets have benefited from the Biomat. There have not been any scientific research done on the safety of animals using the Biomat. If you see a holistic vet, I would consult with them.

In general the lower the temperature, the longer the amount of time you can spend on the Biomat (you would begin to use it gradually to get used to it). You can use it on the lower settings for temporary relief from aches and pains, and arthritis relief. It's also good in the mid range for injury recovery (when heat is recommended by your health care practitioner - sometimes it's not appropriate to use heat). You would use it at the highest setting for a short period (like 20 minutes) to simulate a sauna session to sweat.

You may find other products out there that look the same, but I cannot tell you if they are of the same quality as Richway's Amethyst Pillow. I recently had a conversation with someone who has wanted a Richway Biomat for sometime and was saving up for one. She got impatient and decided to purchase a cheaper product made in China. It stopped working after less than a year. So she didn't save any money. If the pillow is a product you'd like to invest in, then choose an option that aligns with your values and your budget..

Thank you for your comment. As Roma and I were preparing for the video, I found it difficult to differentiate between the products because they are much different technologies. So we looked at the "same things" for each product and shared that information for each one. Just as your friend had the Biomat felt relaxed and then tried the PEMF mat and noticed a huge shift, I've heard stories the other way as well, where someone experienced the PEMF mat and felt relaxed and noticed a huge shift with the Biomat. The Biobelt has not been approved by the FDA for helping with menstrual cramps. Some people may find the heat would provide some soothing relief from pain of cramps, you do need to take care as to how it may impact the flow of your period. The Alkal-Life system was designed to sit on the counter-top, so you can adjust the PH levels when needed. It would be difficult to place the unit under the sink and have the hole for the silver dispensing hose properly placed. And then the hose would need to just sit on your countertop or into your sink, which would get awkward as you wash dishes. I don't recommend it. Hi there, In the Professional Model, you won't see actual crystals, there is a layer of material called the TOCA layer- which stands for Tourmaline Catch layer. It's a layer of material that has black tourmaline in the weave. It's under the crystals. Hi TG, These are great questions. Regarding the maximum power needed for the different temperature settings, I'm checking with the technical department to confirm the requirements. It can be run off of a battery back-up system. I have one and it works fine with it. The Biomat can be stored as cold as -13F, so the cold temperature won't hurt it. The way the Biomat works is that it is either generating heat or generating negative ions. If it is used in a really cold setting, it will be heating up more often. So if you placed your Sleeping bag on top of the Biomat, and the Biomat is more exposed to the cold air, it will likely need to warm up more. I would recommend looking at the Mini Biomat (19.5" x 33.5") - if your Sleeping bag is big enough, it can slip inside of it and the heat will be retained in that area better. Plus, even if you need to conserve power, it would still keep your sleeping bag warm for a while after the power is turned off. Just like the pioneers used to warm up rocks and slip them into their bed to keep them warm, the crystals will retain heat after they have been warmed up.

Hi, EF, Thanks for your question. Something to be mindful of is how many therapies you are using concurrently and the potential cumulative effects on the body. Now, if the red light therapy panel is something your body is already familiar with, it will likely be ok, but I have to be transparent and let you know that I have only used light therapy a few times and separate from the Biomat. Hi Jeffrey, This is a great question. I actually clear my Biomat on a regular basis, because even as I go through my day, my energy shifts. I put the Biomat outside regularly in the sunshine to clear and recharge. You can also do this when you first receive it to clear it of energy from anyone who was handling it along the way.

Hi Chris, I do not have a gauss meter, so I have not personally tested the Biomat. One of my colleagues has tested the Mini Biomat with a gauss meter - on the magnetic field setting. The reading was close to 0 (the background reading not next to the Biomat was also 0) over most of the Biomat, but it did jump up to 25 milligauss right on top of the plug where the electrical cord connects with the Biomat. Once the meter was about 1.5 inches away from the plug, it was back at about 2-3 Milligauss . On the electric field setting, over the mat, the reading was about 1 milligauss. Then about 10 when it is on top of the plug. Again, this reduces down when you are a few inches away from the plug. If you have questions about the iMRS, please contact Roma directly :)

Brigette, This is a great question. Sauna blankets are a low end way to create the detox environment. And it's strictly about sweating. The red alarm button is for when there is something wrong with the Biomat. 95% of the time when this flashes, it is because the plug is not pushed into the Biomat all the way. Once you push it in firmly, the light will go off. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
