I know these are older videos, I saw on one you did a charcoal treatment inside the bowl. If you have some time, can you show us how you did that?

Just watched this video. The first of yours I've watched. Nice work. Music volume very distracting! This was 7 years ago. Hopefully you've toned it down a bit. Good work though.

I don't want to gross you out but that's not all oxidation on the stem. A lot of is dental tartar.

This may have saved me 25 American Dollars. I have a Hilson (Dutch) Houston-"Basket Pipe", which I have had since 1987. About a Year and a half ago, I picked it up by the Bowl and the Bit DROPPED out! I FREAKED THE F*K OUT!!! I said out loud, "WTH!!! I AM NOT ONE OF THESE IDIOTS THAT TAKE THE BIT OUT WHILE THE DAMN THING IS HOT!!! Thank you, Sir. But I am (always meant to) going to seitch out the Rubber Bit for Lucite. Thanks!

I would never have stained it. A few wipes of oil and a little sun is all it needed I reckon

I would expect the water to evaporate in short order so I'm wondering if some type of oil would do the same thing and last longer? Anyone have an idea if that's the case or have another solution?

Noone snapped anything off those pipes purposefully😂 They did put them in the fire once in a while to clean them, when the draw hole was blocked. But these pipes were not that cheap at the time, so the snapping off pieces of a clay pipe is just a myth.

The snapping of the stems was a common myth, however, at night, they would gather the pipes, put them in an iron rack and stick them in the coal fire overnight to clean any debris out of them, and maby some germs

Thanks for a WONDERFUL video Brother! I was anticipating some drastic measures needing to be employed. And in a matters of minutes you showed me something so ridiculously simple that I even after 75 years on this planet am literally amazed! Thank you. I must have almost a hundred pipes in my beautiful collection and a half dozen of them were ridiculously loose. I was wondering: How can I have been so stupid to purchase as new such a messed up pipe?! And now there was nothing wrong with me or the pipe. It was just excessive decreased humidity. Dare say that yours is probably to best of thousands of you tube videos that I have watched! Thank you!

My father bought on in Colonial Williamsburg in 75’. I clearly remember the occasion. It was never used, just sat as a display piece. He past away this July, and last weekend I got it out and smoked my first pipe, ever.

I use Teflon tape like on plumbing pipe threads. It wraps on easy and comes right off. It is cheap and easy to use.
