About 2,800 years ago, circa 800BCE, there existed a giant University at Takshashila (often called Taxila) as an important seat of learning.
Though the building of Takshashila had long gone, the soul of the institution remains alive. Deriving inspiration from our ancient and glorious past, we decided to establish another institution of excellence named "Takshashila School Of Civil Services". An institution where we will train future leaders of India.

Sir, i think in our current context it will be corrupted because we have seen the tendency to centralise all the important aspects of our country which can strengthen the central government only.. will lateral entry become political affairs or political desire...For example chairman of BCCI... So they can hire the experts to evaluate or to train the civil servants which are already overall knowledgeable or try to find out from them who will be more appropriate for that particular post.... Another thing is that, if there also should the reservation system then what is about experts.... If we want expert or the most appropriate person then why we need reservation... Will it fulfill our needs..
I agree with you up to a certain extent , this practice would be corrupted if the transparency of the recruitment process and the prestige and reputation of UPSC would be compromised . In this video , I states that , the objective of lateral entry is only to provide maximum efficiency to the top management level however , there would be the conflict of interest between private sector and the government sector . Therefore , it is better to provide training to our existing civil servant continuously . Kindly watch full video carefully, and still if there is any query, pls let me know
