Good job Max. Just one correction. My understanding is that the Western Sydney (WSA) Metro will ultimately be extended north from St Marys to meet the M1 at Tallowong/Schofields, (not the other way around). It will also be extended south to Narellan and Macarthur, and possibly also a link to Leppington or Glenfield. The above is consistent with it being the main North/South transport 'spine' of Greater Western Sydney, which is also the main catchment area for the airport's passengers. Technically it seems to be a 'Light Metro" (only 3 to 4 cars long) which are designed more for frequent medium population density services (suitable for much of Western Sydney), rather than Metros like the M1 that are designed more for higher density areas like Sydney CBD, inner southern and northern suburbs. Automated light metros are also good for lines which may get sudden increases in passenger load (like from several flights arriving close together at WSA). For example, it will have a couple of sidings just north of the Airport / Elizabeth Drive, with extra trains that can be added to the system almost immediately when needed.

Hi Max, thanks for an excellent video. The Bankstown line is of special interest to me, as I lived at Marrickville until mid 1981 and rode trains on this line regularly to and from work. In mid 1981, my family and I then moved here to Melbourne. I think the airport line may have been a better option, as it is a newer line and it may have been less expensive to convert. Nice video! Unfortunately, I probably will NEVER return to that station after what I went through multiple times…. Nearly died there! Glad you had a smooth time though. This is really the only way I can see trains at Helensburgh (through a screen). 😢😮 If I could, I would love to visit Helensburgh station, it’s so peaceful and has a many great views in the area! But I can only go with someone to help (if needed) and ensure I’m not put at risk. Thanks for the video.

Usually I skip videos taken at Helensburgh station as it brings back the memories, but if I see a thumbnail or video cover that interests me, I often brave it and this time I enjoyed the video. I guess you’re also lucky you filmed this on a weekend, as during weekdays and particularly school hours, it is absolutely chaotic and dangerous at times. I have seen some crazy things down there. Anyway, I won’t chat 💬 on too much about the “problems.” As long as you had a good time, that’s all that matters in this case. Also, congrats 🥳 on 600 subs. Very nice celebration video you made as well. I would like to ask, was this filmed all in 1 day? If so, that is the most times I have seen that many “film worthy” trains pass through Helensburgh in 1 day!
