Loved the way you discussed 2 decks side by side. Very nice presentation. Thanks for sharing. I ordered the Seer's Tarot deck and came to have a closer look at the cards❤❤ ❤
Hi Mary it really depends on your conversion as to how expensive the cheat sheets are in your area. Watch for sales as I do have them on and off all the time to help people out.
Thank you so much - I would love you to be part of my community connectwithyourdeck.com/newsletter we have lots of freebies to help you get started on your Tarot journey
Thank you for the series! I ordered your book and received it this week. One thing stood out in particular in this episode & that’s the yellow sky relating to Icarus; I did some research because it relates directly to something I saw clairvoyantly, but I couldn’t find any tarot material listing the color yellow in tarot having anything to do with Icarus. If you wouldnt mind where you read it, I would be so appreciative!!
Hi thank you so much for your kind words about my work!! I have done so much reading over the years to learn the symbolism of the Tarot both in online forums and in my books in my personal library and I cant quite recall where I read it - I am so pleased my reviews have been helpful to you!!
Hi, I'm new to tarot and trying to learn eagerly. I've a doubt, to start with tarot should I use the original tarot deck or can I use any tarot deck? Will the other tarot decks miss any features or detailing which are on the original tarot deck cards?
I always recommend using the Rider Waite Smith Tarot. You can see the one here by following this link amzn.to/2RjdI5W the reason I recommend using this deck is most teachers use it and it is an excellent summary of all of the Tarot decks that have gone before. Modern Tarot decks often follow the Rider Waite Smith card arrangement so if you learn Rider Waite Smith you can really read just about any deck. I have put together a FREE video series to teach you all the things I wish I knew when I first started studying the Tarot. You can find that course here ru-vid.com/group/PLY-9aRhvOwRCcP-XRfSbhzxdqMG1K2r7W&si=2qdATw0yj85kO7ad I hope that is helpful to you. What a wonderfully deep insight you have given us into not only this card deck, but tarot. Thank you so much. I look forward to delving through your video playlist and watching more of your content. Gratitude, love and blessings in abundance to you. xxx ❤🙏🏽𐦞
On the Hanged Man card; she is also about to touch some significant furthark runes, she is especially close to the symbol of Gebo. Gebo is the rune for gifts, but with gebo rune, you must always remember, that you have to pay a price for the gifts you take from life, sometimes you need to make sacrifices (for ex: you have to sacrifice your workaholic tendencies, to gain balance in your life.. etc). To sum it up, she is about to touch the gifts the life brings, if only she is ready to look from an upside down perspective and be brave enough to touch
Hi Thomas I’ve been a bit overwhelmed the last couple of days and been meaning to answer you. I not able to read Latin so all praise to you for attempting it. I would be looking at Arthur Waites translations of anything by Eliphas Levi particularly The History Of Magic AND the universe must have been listening Academia sent through to me a research article on the Symbolism of the Tarot according to Arthur Waite - hopefully this link will take you to the article www.academia.edu/90897134/Arthur_Edward_Waite_The_Great_Symbols_of_the_Tarot?email_work_card=title if you join Academia you do get a certain number of free articles a month - I really enjoy reading on there - it’s been very helpful. - I hope that gives you some more starting places to think about your topic for your thesis
I heard they had some serious resources for the time, and made more decks than anywhere else and maybe they had more artists trained to “repair” decks like a Thomas Kinkade franchise :P But yes this just gets so deep. I imagine you’ve read some about rosicrucianism by now. Forgive me if that’s a capt obvious statement.
I’ve already memory palaced the major arcana archetypes and can recall every symbol on every card now. I will be going in to layer the palace by diving into each card and creating mnemonic associations between each symbol and your shortlists of meanings. I was looking for exactly this, thank you. I’ve also memorized your color meanings yesterday and your numerologies today, with 100 percent recall. Memory palaces are why I’m here finally having the confidence to dive into the occult and anything else for that matter.
This is fabulous- I answered your other comment and RU-vid ate it so I’m hoping it will appear again!! Knowing symbolism is really valuable as it helps you in other areas of study not just the Tarot - as I mentioned in my other comment I am going through renovations and my whole life is turned upside down at the moment. I will be back but it right be another couple of months. I am intending to do some free tutorials online where we can discuss in depth.
Yes I am a third year Music and Art Undergrad and I am brainstorming a Summer Research Project right now. I think I will propose a compendium of symbols. Any tips on keeping a focus that isn’t too narrow or too wide? I realize freemasonry has done quite a phenomenal job of consistency in symbolic language so that’s certainly a main focus but how much of that language is derived from dream symbolism? I am equally interested in the latter.
Hi Thomas - the problem with symbolism is it depends on where you obtain your information as symbolism can vary depending on the genre you are studying. And it’s a huge topic with varying opinions! When I created the symbolism cheat sheets I had a hard time even finding some of the more traditional symbolism descriptions. However a term I came across a lot was ‘Classical Symbolism’ I would think about looking at Golden Dawn symbolism or symbolism of the Renaissance or earlier - and try and refer to writers. Thinkers and occultists of a certain time periods. The Golden Dawn (think Magregor Mathers and Mia Mathers) did a lot of research into the old occult books and summarised a lot of the ideas on symbolism that are contained in them (over Millenia) My series on Tarot for beginners should give you a good place to start - as I’ve summarised the main people of the Golden Dawn period at least. It’s a huge topic - good luck!!
You’re a delight! I found your videos after finding and purchasing your tarot cheat sheet pdf. I am using them in combo with memory palaces to just break down absolutely everything. BTW i heard you mention luck with the wheel of fortune, forgive me if this is wrong or just unhelpful but I am almost done reading the Kybalion as my Kabbalah entry point and there is a cause and effect principle that is held in hermetism, saying chance is an imaginary construct. To me I think many people agree with that anyways .
Absolutely- and if you have taken the time to process that construct that’s fabulous! In June when I emerge from these horrific renovations I’m going through ( imagine painters in the back of my house painting listening to Perry Como really loudly) I am going to be running some tutorial groups online. This would be a fabulous topic to discuss in terms of understanding how you create your own luck through your actions in the world. So please hang in there with me I’m imploding at the moment with no kitchen or laundry!! Hopefully it wont be too long before I am back!
Thank you so much - I don’t know what happened to my other reply I think RU-vid ate it! I think it’s really commendable that you have taken the time to digest such a complex concept. I see it very much as creating your own luck by what you put out into the world. I’m going to try and remember to put this on the list when I start my free tutorial groups! Thank you so much for your feedback!
We're going through the same thing. Renovating; wiring issues so one room at a time became almost all rooms at once with us still in here.... LOL! I hope your remodeling goes smoothly and swiftly!
Thank you so much for everything you do! I appreciate all your hard work and I learn so much. I have purchased your card a day workbook and your symbolism worksheets and I use them with Good notes. They are fantastic!! 🩵
I’m so pleased you are enjoying the courses! Don’t forget to subscribe to my community connectwithyourdeck.com/newsletter I’ve got loads of free goodies
Hi Kimberly Thank you for your kind wishes! I am currently in the middle of renovations- as soon as I can see the light at the end of the tunnel we will be getting started !! In the meantime you can join my community connectwithyourdeck.com/newsletter Take care this holiday season and I hope to see you in the new year!
Hi Elizabeth! Just signed up for the challenge, super excited to be more engaged with Tarot :) Does it matter which month I start with? Like, can I just pick up with the November video, or should I start at the beginning with January videos?
Hi Romy please watch the next video on Grounding And Protection- if you have your Tarot deck with you it can be very tempting to start reading- only read when you feel comfortable to do so! I hope that makes sense to you.
Hi Romy the Deck I always use is the Rider Waite Smith Deck - it is a teaching deck and probably one of the most famous decks in the world. If you watch my videos you will see I use it a lot - it is a fabulous teaching deck and to learn from.
I’ve been contemplating this deck or Sasuraibito deck, they both scream out to me and especially because of the incredible artwork which is a hobby of mine. Definitely in a pickle lol.
