About how many cylindrical beads did you use, about 150? This is beautiful. I think I'm going to make one with Lapis Lazuli and Brass, or Onyx and Copper. And what's the size of the beads and string used? Have you made any more since this video?
I’m German and living in Colorado and looking for a dress from my home state (Baden-Württemberg/Swabia) to wear to Renn Faires over here and adore hot pink and would love this. Unfortunately I’ve never successfully sewed a solitary stitch so I’ll just go to Etsy and try to find something close lol. But I love this dress so much! I’m about to search, but would love to see your take on traditional Black Forest dresses, Bollenhut and all.
Boss mode activated. Victoria, i am a trained martial artist and i aint fightin you in that getup. You would wipe the floor with solid metal bad arsery. You look amazing!!!
I know this is very random, but, I feel you need to get a kidney function test from your medical professionals. The darkness around your eyes is a symptom on kidney problems.
Deep set eyes and lower fat levels underneath the eye socket, which cause that area to pick up shadows, are genetic facial geometry. Fillers can "fix" this, but they are difficult to maintain. If you feel you know more than my doctors, based on an internet assessment vs in person work, you are welcome to talk to them and tell them yourself. It sounds like maybe you have experience dealing with such kidney problems, in which case I wish you the best of luck in your healing! It is comments like these that cause so many people to shy away from sharing their work online. I have shared my struggle with such, and the sheer number of people who have reached out and told me they don't share anymore because of these very cases, is heartbreaking. Please consider the person behind the account when you leave a comment. Plenty of people are fighting battles they do not share online and may or may not be going through health issues. Either way, no one wants to be told they look sick.
@@DaisyViktoria i was simply offering a suggestion in a helpful manner however you took it as an attack. I feel sad for that you didn’t take my suggestion with the concern I made it with, I care deeply about all people so I wish you good luck with all your endeavours .
It sounds like we both care about people! Perhaps I was not clear. I didn't say that you did this as an attack. I have a rather thick skin myself and offer that suggestion and perspective to you as someone who also cares for all people and wishes to advocate for, not only myself, but those around me as well. I trust that you have a good intention, and I have also seen the effects of these discussions. When you lose the face to face interaction, it is difficult to truly convey intention. I know many people who struggle with health issues and have already dealt with so much commentary in real life, that a fun fantasy world is a hopeful escape from all of that commentary.
daisy, that is way cool!! i love the richness of the dress and the embellishments--the windowpane black silk really makes it! and congratulations on adulting with an adult job and some hopefully fun training! much love to you!!!!!
That came out beautiful! The companion pattern book "Medieval Garments Reconstructed" by Ostergard on the Herjolfsnes finds is also excellent, BTW, and Aarhus University Press has it as an ebook - the pattern lines are overlaid on the shape of the original find, so you can see the missing pieces and the wonky cutting lines. (There's a theory that the side gores were draped on to fit the wearer, but for a modern recreation a ready-made pattern is more familiar to people.)
Congrats on the job! I'll bet you're glad to be up there in all this heat! And you missed the hurricaine. Wow, it's been a year. I'm sooo ready for spooky season, not a heat person. But we're missing the smoke from the fires, so far.... I'm SO happy for you being in WA and settling in.
One tip if anyone is adding a facing to a tunic after the fact or forgot to get the neckline of your facing traced before the tunic is sewn up...on my recent project, I set my finished tunic out flat and put a piece of paper inside the neckline flush with the shoulder crease so that it filled in the neckline space. I traced the front neckline onto that, then put another piece of paper in and repeated on the back. Once the pieces are cut out and taped together, it creates a template of the neckline that can be used to plan from there! (Unfortunately stitching it on at that point is still going to be very fussy...fortunately the project I'm working on is hand-sewn and that makes it a *little* easier. 😅)
That looks great. I just did something similar for my 2 year old granddaughter. It is amazing how little fabric that uses lol and it sews up so much faster! I played with my machines embroidery stitches for the hem and neck line. I did lacing up the sides to make it size up and down so hopefully she will wear it for more then 6 months
Question - How do you know that the binding tape was cut on the straight grain instead of the bias? They were obviously very frugal with fabric usage, I'm just curious where we figured that out!
You’ve been my sewing companion all day after the gods of the algorithm FINALLY got around to helping me find you! They’ve been so rude hiding you this way. After the first video, I immediately subbed and searched out a playlist ❤
I've seen quite a few places theorising that those elaborate dresses were made of leather, goat leather which is very soft and fine (if processed properly) - hence the intricate sewing patterns, but I'm not at all an expert!
BRAND NEW SCHOOL; learn it all... Professionals are Respected _Have Confidence in your own hard work ( I think you did a great job on this and i would love to wear one) I really mean that ✨✨🎃
I have to admit that pinner aprons are not my preferred ones, but this outfit is simply beautiful, and you wear it so well. You look pretty and féminine. In my case, although I am a man, I like wearing cross-back aprons.
To build on the tradition the next morning you could gift the flowers to the person in your dream or whoever you would like to marry. Even if you’re already in a relationship you could take part and give your partner the flowers in the morning when you wake up as a token of your love.
No, you can't use it for any sex. Boys don't dream of their future wife, they dream football, adventures, maaany girlfriends... they start dreming future wife from the age of 26 and some even later 😂
As an older queer person i promise you leaving these comments will not help anyone and will only make your own day worse arguing with people who will never agree with you
Any tips on how you made the shoulder gussets work out? I understand most of the concept but haven't been able to figure out how to turn the corner, and am having difficulty finding online resources (most info on gussets assumes you're working a gusset into seams, not into a slit piece of fabric).
