Any tips on how to remove the spring on this specific shock? I’ve got it in the vise now and can’t get the spring off

Is it just me or this installation video sucks. Doesnt talk about what he is doing and what spacers go where and why. Video is shot from so far away cant tell what he is doing. And covers multible forks and brands so doesnt look like what I have. Fork instructions have no diagram of what goes where for rider that likes to do his own work on bike. Also mine came with all the spacers etc on the cartage are they in the correct locations and qtys or have the take them off and relocate them, again a diagram or photo is 1000 words.

Jeremey / Adam, great to see this info available in video form! I am a customer and have two sets of ravens & National shock. Quest #1 is measurement "A" read from bottom of spring purch to top of cartridge or ? Quest #2 please confirm "A" is 450mm for lowered forks as well. Keep up the great work!!!

I have the raven in my 2023 ktm250sxf. I absolutely love it. But I do have a question. Is it possible to make the huckvalve resist a bit quicker without changing anything else. I’m sloppy sometimes and case it or go long and would like the huckvalve to help me just a bit more.

Study the concept of tuning any damper in general and then practice making changes and identifying the effects while you ride.

I read that the Lucky carbons have been discontinued, but that the replacement kit (now called the Ravens) are very similar, and the new Blackjacks are moto specific. Is this accurate?

Hi the Carbons have been discontinued. However we have Raven which is best described as a twin chamber Lucky and we have our BlackJack which is larger volume twin chamber system originally based off the Carbon.

Is this style shock harder to bleed when doing an oil change since the holes on the shaft are so small? I just had the hardest time ever doing the shock on a 2015 crf450. Shaft kept getting sucked down into the shock body when I was trying to bleed

The instructions say use 4wt oil. I would imaging the valving is flow tested and designed to function with a certain viscosity oil and changing it will totally change the characteristics of the damping. ??????

Seems like most articles I've read recommend Gen1 standard over Gen2 carbon for MX if you're not a faster A/Pro rider. I'm 200lb Vet C so that doesn't qualify in any form as fast, A or Pro. lol This video recommends the carbon due to higher speeds such as hare scrambles and moto. Any C class guys out there running one or the other for reference?

I got the Lucky Carbon's and they have been an absolute game-changer. I have dialed in the comp/reb where I want it and they are a night and day difference compared to the original. I wish I could get their national shock, but that is a little outside of my budget currently.

Interesting. I have 2020 Beta 300rr and it definitely needs something to stabilize the front. I also need to go up in springs. I would really like to ride another Beta 300 that has this installed.

It appears that this is not a modified deCarbon shock, which requires enough pressure behind the divider to support compression damping pressure. That means it can operate at lower gas pressure for less shaft seal wear and friction. It's more a divided reservoir twin tube, the bladder just keeps the air in the expansion space out of the oil and is not part of the damping system. A real improvement.

That reservoir design looks eerily familiar to the 1987 CR 125/250 design, which had the exact same problems with fade and short oil life!
