Saint Pius X Catholic Church is a faith community that proclaims the Word of God and celebrates the Sacraments, with the Eucharist as the source and summit of our spiritual life. Our parish, rooted in Granger, IN and part of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, invites everyone to respond to God's call to salvation by developing a sense of Christian fellowship.
Mission: Saint Pius X Catholic Parish, dedicated to renewing all things in Christ, is committed to evangelization through prayer, service, sacrificial giving, faith formation, and community.
Too much clapping. Feels too protestant. Peter and Pius dont belong where Mary and Joseph should be on the left and right of the altar. I find this Church tacky and getting to far away from the traditional Mass. The choir is distracting. The choir pratice before isnt a good idea. The choir director chewing out the kids is disgusting. This is too much like the Granger community. We are better than this. We are Catholic and dont need the song and dance. Jesus in the Eucharist is all we need.
Sing a joyful song unto the Lord. praise the Lord with gladness. The opening kids choir surely scores 100%on all points. Puts adults to shame. God bless our kids!
I do believe we have tools to fight off evil. By seeking Gods help and keeping Him in the picture, He will intervene when necessary. Never fight evil without Him!
What a lovely service. So fitting of Mrs. Greenwell, as I knew her always, A wonderful faithful Servant, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, neighbor and friend. I have always known she was one person who remained the same no matter what day you would see her. A loving warm-hearted person.
Music magnificent. The whole versus populum is not. The versus populum is the religious answer to the evening news. It renders the Mass horizontal and makes clergy watching not adoration the focus of the liturgy. It classically incarnates the narcissistic "it's all about us" aspects of the NO to the extreme. Versus populum is also exceptionally clerical. This Mass while dignified presents one with a basic cognitive dissonance. The necessary verticality of the liturgy is pulled down and rendered mundane by the poverty of the rubrics and the position of the priests. I attend mass at a Shrine where recently we have begun to kneel for communion and Mass is celebrated ad orientem. I cannot believe how the atmosphere has changed towards one of transcendent reverence.
Deep grieving is like a two edge sword. You 😊are so deep in pain that His presence over whelms you with love at the same time. Crazy? I don’t understand how this works either. “Lo , I am with you always”
We can never be separated from those we loved because God leaves us with memories to hold and cherish. And in time, we realize that our loved ones live on not only in a home beyond the setting sun but within our loving hearts. May God wrap your family in His loving arms and grant you peace.
This week has been so inspirational. The services were were the upmost. The music outstanding and the cantor’s performance and the choir were spirit driven. The hours it took for all to accomplish this is greatly appreciated. Bishop Crowley must be looking down from heaven on that young priest he mentored and thinking “I have finally been out done”with the face of a proud Father.
Dcn. James Summers and his wife Susie are great examples of a true Christian couple. They have so much to offer St. Pius. Glad to see James in this new role of discipleship. God bless their mission.
