Ms. Heidi, I live in central texas now, before in New York and never had Sushi until last year! I love it! We order our groceries from HEB and as a treat to myself, for caring for my disabled mother, I sometimes order the sushi for myself. Mom isn't fond of it. I must say that it is like hunting for treasure from the grocery bags! 😊 Best reward for a hard job.😊

What a marvelous teaching! I am very interested in knowing the etiquette of eating rice with our hands. Is there a reason Africa was not mentioned? I find they eat rice at mostly all of their meals. Again, this was fabulous teaching!

However, I have done a lot of different videos for Asian dining. However, you bring up some really terrific points, and I pride myself on being culturally, competent, (please check out some of the videos we posted about being culturally aware). Across many parts of Africa and parts of the subcontinent and other areas, it is customary to use your hands to eat. I’d love to make a video about this, but meanwhile, broadly speaking, to be proper, when using your hands to eat rice, you use three fingers to eat; index, middle and ring finger. However, that can vary, depending on the area, and local customs. Thank you for such a great comment. I need to make some videos that cover this topic. However, somehow as charcuterie crossed the pond, and arrived on our shores we decided we needed to add some cheese, meat, fruit, carbohydrates, a little bit of everything! So, answer your question no, we’re not technically correct but yes, this is what the term has loosely come to mean In North America. mostly here in the philippines the entourage & the guest follow the color palette chosen by the bride as theme of the wedding,the colors are indicated on the invitations.definitely no white,its exclusive for the bride,and no black since it signifies sadness or grief as in a wake.

And it’s usually a lot easier to eat off the side of that, they’re usually way too big to even think about putting them straight into your mouth, which, Dining at the highest levels, is considered, poor form. I'm okay with everything except having to bring the soup spoon all the way up to my mouth with just a little smidge of soup in it. I'd be paying too much attention to my soup etiquette that I would not enjoy myself. But I would say some practice is in order and maybe I'll be more agreeable to it
Hello! Yes, you’re absolutely right! Practice makes perfect! I remember being a little girl, and my mother making my two younger sisters, and I bring soup all the way up to our mouse, and of course we drip things all over, but we were learning. And in the end, doing things properly, became second nature, and easy to do. But of course, be reasonable, and remember, what I teach is when you were dining at the highest circles. But if you’re dining, informally, or at home with family and friends, do you! But, I do subscribe to the school of thought that says if you practice your manners all the time, you will use them no matter where you are or what the circumstance. Thank you so much for the videos! Today I went to Maison Eric Kayser and ordered a delicious croissant with salmon and eggs filings. The waitress did not send me knife and fork. I was so confused and stuck how to start to enjoy it! I tried to bite the croissant piece by piece but failed, a full filings inside…Finally I picked it up with my hands and just ate. I really don’t like my plate after I finished but I had tried my best to avoid a messy plate… 😅

It’s acceptable to slide tubes into the tines of the fork & eat it like that. The pasta sometimes breaks into small pieces when we try to pick it up perpendicularly. Spoon and knife is a definite no for sure.

Get the napkins off the plate. O one wants lint and starch on their plates. Most champagne is too great for all those sweet things at tea. Make champagne cocktails, buy a double champagne or make Kir royals out of the champagne to cut the dry edge with the sweets.

Hey, Heidi, you probably know that there are a whole range of champagnes from bone dry to quite sweet. Many just do not appear on most stores shelves. You can find a more neutral champagne that can blend better with a range of foods. Also, brut or brut nature champagnes leaves with a very sour stomach. Perhaps a demi-sec?
