We're two Alabama natives traveling fulltime in our 16' Fiber Stream camper. Our goal is to live simply and deliberately while we connect with the world around us. Join us for the journey!
I would be interested in seeing Alivia's work with her garden. Know it is not RVking, but can still be interesting Glad to hear you 3 are still together. My lovely wife and I have been together 46 years. Tell people it's been the craziest roller coaster ride we've ever been on. Can't split up now because we each have each other trained just like we like it and don't want to start new.
We have used our maceration pump with no problems from the RV to a 50 gallon tank in the bed of our truck. I have to question what is in your black tank, that stuff didn't look like just human waste.
Life is constantly changing, and you have to take chances and see what works for you. Not everything is meant to be long-term. I am glad you were monetarily successful but also glad that you have found balance in life and have found what makes you happy. It's sad that negativity sells 😕 money isn't everything. I am glad you got ahead and you can enjoy life and send out positive vibes 🙂
I keep my tanks closed. That gives me better black tank emptying and plenty of soapy gray water to clean out the discharge hose after I’ve dumped the Blackwater Tank first.
Closed!! Until my wife takes her 15 minute shower 😅 I like using the build up of gray to flush the hose after draining the black tank. It's not a big deal to pull the handle everyday!
It’s tough to get reservations on weekends especially. It’s a shame that so many first come first serve are gone. We have lost our balance and don’t need every site reservable. Weather plays a huge part in people staying or showing up. Now they are stuck with the bill. life doesn’t always go according to plans scheduled.
You can leave the gray open if you leave the hose with a "P" trap. Most people use something to elevate the waste hose. If you let the end of the hose by the sewer inlet hang down and form a "P" trap, it will stay full of water and smells, flies etc can not come back into the RV. If you are going to leave the gray open, always put in aP trap.
Appreciate your honesty. Good to see you and we do miss you guys, you inspired a lot of our RV travels as a young family. We figured family life changes things, good to hear you were able to shift gears to what works for you. Yes it sucks that people respond so much to negativity; I can see how you would want to maximize returns and focus on whatever sells, but good on ya for seeing the forest for the trees and refocusing on the positive. Totally respect keeping the fam off YT. Glad you’re happy, and we wish your family the best.
Thank you for your honesty. More often than not, that is how we learn the paths we need to be on to be genuinely happy and content. Money is not always it.
Having been involved with campground operations, The ones cancelling are the ones that book multiple sites and are on the cancelation list for a particular site that when there is a cancelation on that site they cancel their other reservations (because it's on the water or closer to attractions). I'd say most (80-90%) do not cancel. No shows do happen but they are usually folks who find a better site somewhere else and they just didn't cancel. Those people should not be able to reserve again for one year.
