Meet Oscar! My new 8 year old African Grey Parrot that was recently rescued. Like and subscribe to follow him on his journey. Watch him grow together with us as we work with him to come out of his shell and become the confident, outgoing bird we know he has the potential to be.
She will get used to it eventually, a lot of animals do not like change, with a lot of patience it will work out. She's absolutely brilliant and adorable❤😂
❤ She was only there about half an hour and I sat with her half of that. I use to put her right out on the back deck but her new cage won't fit through the doors and she won't let us handle her to put in a carry.
She is definitely smart and is working on talking clearly to be heard. Oscar follows everyone's activities in the house and uses their names, has conversations and comments on what's happening around her. We love her to death except when she's screeching lol
He refuses to use perches and kept hurting himself on them trying to avoid them. He has toys along the back of his cage but also has just started showing interest in them. He spooks easy and falls to the floor so I try now to keep his cage free of too many obstacles. He will only perch on his water dish.
He is indeed rescue. He was pretty cage bound and very seldom leaves his cage. His door is open all day. We try to encourage him to come out more but he won't step up and only flys out on occasion. Even then he goes straight to a chair to sit and thats it. He has come a very long way in the 6 months we've had him.❤
He is free to come out whenever he wants. If you read up on my descriptions you would see Oscar was a cage bound rescue that is scared to leave his cage very often. He also has very weak wing muscles so doesn't fly more than a few feet.
I subscribed :)))Amazing vlog. I am impressed by this film :))) My autumn garden is still blooming. As a thank you, I invite you to see my wonderful nature. @angelgardenvlog
No, he is like this all the time when my son is around. He only sees him a few times a day and he is the chosen. Oscar will do anything for his attention.
Ignore my question about is he a rescue I know he’s a rescue… I just am wondering how long you’ve had him. He really is in good shape from what I can see..❤😊
Thank you, he has come a long way. We are super proud of him. Today he actually told me a story of a day not long ago where he got scared and fell to the bottom of his cage. Clear as day.
Does he watch the other African Greys that are on RU-vid? I’ve noticed some of them do live videos with 2 or three other Greys. Symon, Cosmo, Apollo is amazing. Gizmo is so funny. It might help Oscar vocalize more. I’ve noticed that some of the birds say the things that the other birds say. Symon tends to say red butt chicken, which is what Einstein says all the time. 🤷🏼♀️. It’s cool to see these birds hanging out with all the other ones. If you’ve never seen Parrot Kindergarden, that’s an amazing channel too.
Our AG does this but he hangs from one leg from the top of a cage n holds a position. He is showing off and wants attention we think, when he does this.
