The algorithm doing its thing. You've got all the basics down, your footwork is smooth (could use a little work but I tend to fall off my shot half the time) , your backswing is straight, you've got good timing. Biggest thing right now is doing some exercises to increase your wrist strength. You are kind of just dropping the ball off your fingers rather than rolling through it. With more wrist strength youll get more revs and eventually better control... And maybe less missed spares
Didn’t know you bowled! Not the best at giving advice but on most of these strike attempts youre missing pocket to the right, so to compensate i would move my feet to the right. It sounds weird but moving right allows the ball to move to the pocket earlier.
Yeah I kept moving 2 boards right throughout and my problem was I kept missing my line right and these particular lanes are extremely oily near the gutters so I was trying to play at like the 12-13 board but kept hitting the 4-8 because of my extreme innacuracy. I also had a terrible axis rotation today :(
One thing I noticed is that I'm still up on my toes for the entire approach so I need to change to a heel-toe walk. Beyond that I think first things first I need to straighten my arm out completely.
This is the A class finals competition. Essentially, these are “beginner” groups and most of these students have never done ANYTHING like this before. Towards the end of the video you’ll see some of the more accomplished groups out of this division, but keep in mind these are young students starting out and working hard.
Hey man, huge thanks for documenting all the great quadding this year! I think I recognize your name from a (very blue) one of these groups as well, so congrats on your season! If I could make a suggestion, especially for the not-world-class videos, having the group's name overlaid on these clips would go a long way in helping some of these less known lines get more exposure.
These are just finalists as I like to use the multicams for my compilations. I may be making full ones in the future although it’s hard to find every single PIO group’s run.
The weight sucks, but you get used to it. It's the same Y-axis as snare, but you get to move the part around, which makes it both easier to learn and harder to learn at the same time. If you're physically capable, I highly recommend trying 'em for a season. I started my drumline career on small-blocks (6", 6", 8", 10", 12", 13"), marched three seasons on snare, marched a season outdoor and indoor on cymbals, then marched full-block quads (6", 8", 10", 12", 13", 14") with my university in '16 (definitely rough when you expect similar weight to small-blocks). Having been on that line with a center for Phantom Regiment and MCM helped reinforce one thing: It's mind over matter, and if you set your mind to it, you can conquer any obstacle or challenge. Take the chance if ya can, friend.
@@maltlich absolutely. I want people to get the best experience of seeing the work you guys put in. They did the same stuff for drum corps dvds whenever things messed up so I figured I'd do the same
