This version sounds so different yet so nostalgic! I am not familiar with music, but I think the vibe of Eastern was greatly amplified by instruments such as the xylophone and flute. And the drums in "Shuusou Gyoku ~ Clockworks" are just 👌 Reminds me of the dark vibe from "The Young Descendant of Tepes". Love this work!
I had already done some stuff with 3/4 before but it was my first time doing 7/8! I thought 3/4 fit the 2nd movement amazingly because it fits the emotion of the "daily life" montage scenes in the short film I composed this for.
I'm gonna be a little nerd and tell you a fun fact, the melody from Theme of Eastern Story (2007) was actually first used in Silk Road Alice from Seihou Shuusou Gyoku (2000), and A Dream More Scarlet than Red (2002) if you want to only count Touhou games. People still call it ToES lol.
