Glue isn't just to hold the screws more securely, it's to seal the ski from water intrusion. Water seeping into the ski,, and the subsequent freezing and thawinv, can damage the ski. A dab of hot glue in each drilled holeis best.
I would like to know how he kept the hole bit centered over the intended hole location. Without a center bit used to start a location hole, this type of drill bit tends to wonder.
Install and remove the deck on the 260 series is a pain with the hard to reach center lift pin. You need the rear attachment bracket to mount the blade or tiller to one of those.
Look at 5:00 on video, sizes are clearly stated: 3/64" and 5/32". I wrap a piece of tape around bit to act as depth marker, or use a drill that has one - don't drill too deep!
The last step installing the clip that covers the last 2 screws can be tricky and you need to be careful not to break the tines. Occasionally you will have a clip that simply will not snap on without breaking. My solution is do not try to force it. Simply grab a hair dryer heat the clip and presto it will snap on without breaking the tines.
Sam. Thanks for clarity on the Balance point vs center point of the ski and the explanation of putting glue in the holes for moisture guard. I did mean to say Balance point. Thanks
Nice, concise video (easier than reading Salomon's fine print booklet). I'm assuming when you say mark the "center" of the ski, you are meaning the "balance point"? / Addition of glue is often as a seal against moisture, not so much a fastening concern. Thanks for posting.
