I have been properly schooled.thank you. Your knowledge of 60's bands is greater than mine. I will take a longer listen now. Still..love me some Geddy and Neil.
The Who (my all-time favorite band, second to none), demonstrating why they were the ultimate band. The drumming (Keith Moon) and guitar (Pete Townshend) are amazing, but it's the bass that really stands out (John Entwistle). There are other great bands that I like (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, but for me, The Who is tops...
This is the best live Who I've ever seen. There is very little footage o 22:36 f Kieth live... And then you have to watch Roger playing with the tamberine for most of the show while he is blocking most entertaining talent the music world has ever had. I'm not putting Daultry down he was in the best position it's not his fault. Watch how Kieth is always in eye contact with Pete as to pump him up like join me let's go nuts.
The freakin’ WHO!!! Sometimes I’ll play the opening of (for example) “I’ve Had Enough” (Quadrophenia) over and over just to hear Keith Moon’s opening riff. (Been playing piano since the 50s, and made my living at it since the 60s. Mostly “Classical” these days, but who gives a shit? Great music is great music!) The freakin’ WHO!!!!
Thanks again Bobby's Archive! I've commented previously on this site, adding my love to one of the quintessential bands of all time. Townshend, Daltry, Entwistle, and Moon. Live performances - unmatched! Unique. Powerful. Influential. Great work putting these live sequences together Bobby's Archives!
I am sooo glad I got to see them perform this back in 71. I'm 72. To this day, that show remains one of the true highlights of my life! They were AMAZING!!!
I watched The Who perform this in MSG, NY, 50 years after this performance, and they knocked out of our the park on both nights. 50 years? That's pretty bloody impressive!
